Korea - Full day in Seoul - Need help with sightseeing

I am going to be in Seoul for a full day on Monday, July 3. I arrive before 8am and depart late that night.

I would like to take a tour of the city. The "hop on, hop off" bus tour detailed at this site (http://www.visitseoul.net/visit2006/index.jsp) would be perfect, except that it is shut on Mondays. (can't get the English site at present, and I don't speak Korean... I am having serious Internet trouble at the moment).

Does anyone know of an operator that they can recommend? Even a private guide would be fine, if the price was reasonable. Ideally something that has airport pick up/drop off.

If you have any ideas, please post here. If you would, please also shoot me an email (this handle, at aol.com) as I have very limited Internet time (traveling in Vietnam at present), and I might not otherwise get back to FT so quickly.

There are transit tours from the airport if you have >6 hours to spare, so this would certainly seem to be the easiest option. The prices are normally a tad expensive ($70-80 for the Seoul tours), but they're free if you have a connecting flight on Asiana.

jpatokal, I saw that you mentioned the free tour if you have a stopover on Asiana and I have a 14 hour stopover there next month and wanted to find out how you arranged this. Thanks.

I didn't arrange a thing and wasn't even aware of it -- when checking in for my connecting flight at ICN, I was asked if I wanted a free tour or hotel! I said "hotel", and they directed me to the Asiana transfer desk outside immigration/customs, who wrote up the hotel coupon and trundled me onto a bus.

Again, this applies only for OZ-OZ connections, but both Y and C pax seemed eligible.

A few more words about Hotel Airpark (which I stayed in) and the Haesupia spa (which is well worth a visit) nearby: http://wikitravel.org/en/Yeongjong_Island
