Hilton HHonors - Waldorf=Astoria Towers Trip Report

...just a brief trip report to say the W=A is an awesome hotel that is going out of its way to impress this Diamond member.

Checked-in early today at 1pm ...but the room wasn't ready 'till 3, so they let us enjoy snacks/drinks in the Executive Lounge on the 26th floor. At check-in and at the lounge, the staff was gushing with personality and was saying/doing everything to make the stay as wonderful as possible.

Took a brief walk around the block prior to the room being ready... When we got back, the HHonors line was long, so we went to the Executive Lounge for our keys. After an extremely brief wait for the keys, we went to the room.

I reserved a standard Towers room ...and due to Diamond Status, was upgraded to an amazing 1-Bedroom Grand Suite up on one of the top floors. The room goes on forever ...with dining room, kitchenette, foyer/hallway, bedroom/sitting room, and huge bathroom ...making this the largest suite I've ever been in at a Hilton and probably even larger than some Presidential Suites I've stayed at with some Hyatts.

My room comes with a full hot breakfast served to the room ...so we'll see how that goes tomorrow. Otherwise, I simply have lounge access.

All in all, a huge thumbs up for awesome service and exceptional value. ^

Does anyone have the email address for the General Manager of this property?
The DD says "they can not give out this information"

There are two properties, the Waldorf=Astoria & The Waldorf Towers. The Towers are the higher floors.

We stayed in the W=A and was told that W=A does not have a lounge and the Diamond members are not allowed to use the 26th floor lounge because that is for Towers guest only (we were told all Towers guest have access to the 26th floor lounge).

I love the W=A lobby, and was upgraded to a suite our second night, but both rooms had dinky bathrooms (yes, I know it's NYC, but small bathrooms in a suite???). The room was nice, nothing exceptional, the bathrooms were smaller than expected for a suite, and being Diamond and not allow to access the 26th floor was a bit of a disappointment.

Haven't been back since.

Just as a final update to a picture-perfect stay at the Towers, complimentary, full hot breakfast was delivered to the room precisely at the time requested: 9:45am. They set it up in the dining room of the suite.

Before breakfast came, we snuck down to the Executive Lounge where it was absolutely packed wall-to-wall with adults/children. They had the usual Executive Lounge fare --fruit, carbs, juices, boiled eggs, etc. and nothing extraordinary (also nothing disappointing.)

So I guess with the volume of people in the hotel paying for Executive Lounge privledges, they really need to limit Diamond access to this room as there just isn't enough room for everyone.

In any event, the hotel extended late check-out 'till 1pm and the check-out was handled smoothly in the Executive Lounge.

A 5-star visit to a 5-star property. (And the final room rate paid was $659/night before taxes.)
