Hilton HHonors - Do you like the new Hampton Inn bedding?

If you have stayed at a Hampton Inn with the new bedding I am wondering what you think of it?
I am glad they have gotten rid of the ugly floral bedding, but not sure I totally like the new bedding. It is nice that it will be washed between each person so that is a bonus unlike the comforters which got tossed on the floor the second I walk into the room. A sheet though is not enough to keep me warm and the duvet it so thick I get hot.
The duvet cover I did not see a single spot on them, and since they are pure white, it would be easy to spot. I am curious what they will look like in 6 months or so.

I like them. The old ones were very old looking, I'm sure that had nothing to do with their age, right out of the box they probably looked that way.

I like it except I wish they also have a blanket - the duvet was way too hot and the sheet was not warm enough - that was for a stay in Atlanta in early June.

I have found that recent stays with the new bedding the rooms were cold and the duvet kept me very hot. Which isnt terrible.
I must say I am happy it appears they are cleaned.
But its the bed that makes it to me. So I am happier that they are being raised. I still with they were the Marriott Revive beds though..... Oh well. Asking too much at hiltons?

the bedding is nice. the beds however are too high and too hard and that silly desk thing they put on beds is well silly. (the first thing you do is have to remove the channel changer and throw the rest somewhere). Not very useful.
by the way i hate the cold white florescent lights they've recently been installing in some of the hotels

The beds and all the pillows are awesome, but I agree about needing a blanket. I like to pull the comforter over me because it's so comfortable, but often wake up covered in sweat :(
I like the lap desks... lets me use my laptop without scalding my lap.

Definitely like the new bedding. Just can't seem to get in sync with the lap desk, but not a big deal. And from my most recent biz trip last week, let me throw in some props for HI/Suites in Binghamton, NY and HI in Harrisburg-West, PA. Also, HGI in Allentown-West, PA - great gym/pool. ^

I have always found a blanket in the closet in a plastic bag.

I stayed at the Park City, UT Hampton last week and loved the new bed and bedding. It's a great improvement over the previous bedding which, although it might have been new at one time, always looked pretty used and tired. As mentioned above, there was a blanket in a plastic bag in the closet.

Yup. Blankets usually in closet or they'll send one up.
The lap desk I love. I have had to "work from home" from a HI more than once. And it lets the laptop not burn up or burn me.
I for one dont like the HI beds. But love the height. I am happy they are making the beds higher. Just wish they were better beds.

I like the new bedding. I'm probably in the minority here but it's the feather pillows that I don't care for. Most are really thick and fluffy and as a side sleeper, they just seem to engulf my face. :) I usually ask for a synthetic pillow but some of the HI's I've stayed at said they didn't have any.

Im not crazy about duvets...Too heavy
had them in my past 3 stays. The Only thing I dislike about the New bedding, is that the rates will go up so they can recoop the $$$.
HI is really Only a Glorified MOTEL. But at $100+ a night , its gotten out of hand.
I had a $139 rate the other night and across the street was a High-rise Quality Inn for $54.99. Needless to say I cancelled my HI res (it was still early enough) and stayed at the QI.
itys great having HIs all over the place but when they are charging close to $150 a night, Id rather stay elsewhere.

I really like the new Hampton beds. I agree on the suggestion of having a blanket also. Usually the rooms that have a sleeper sofa in them (the king studies at most Hamptons) have a blanket and set of sheets for the sleeper stored in the closet or a drawer. However, in the rooms without the sleeper sofa, I've usually not found a blanket. It's not usually been an issue for me as I like to keep the room rather cool when I'm sleeping.
As for the mattresses, I find them to be inconsistent. At some Hamptons they are fine, at others, I feel like I'm lying on a stack of 2 x 4s.
I have loved the lap desks since they first appeared a couple of years ago. I like lying on the bed and using the laptop, and the lap desk is great for that.

This is my personal hotel pet peeve! Unfortunately, compact fluorescent bulbs have been showing up more and more at nearly every quality level of hotel. I understand that they save energy, but the bulbs used by hotels are almost always of the worst quality available -- cold and harsh light. If they are going to put them in every lamp in the room, they could at least buy decent, warmer ones. Even then, I prefer incandescents, at least in the bedside lamp.

I am sitting in a Hampton Inn in Batavia, NY and I am pretty sure that they have the new beds here. I liked the bed, but the pillow was much to thick for my wife and me.
