This might be a newbie type of question but I'll ask it anyway. My daughter has just booked a flight via ISSTA to NYC. ISSTA told her that if she wants to change the return flight (JFK-TLV), she can't do it by phone but has to go to the Elal offices. Has anyone heard such a thing? What if you are far away from an Elal office? Sounds strange to me.

Thanks

If its an electronic ticket there shouldn't be a problem. They can email her the new ticket.
I think they usually require youngsters on one year open reutrn to get a sticker on the paper ticket. So they require you to go to an LY office. I am surprised that you cannot call in advance and ask them to change the date and then she can just get the sticker at the "KUPAH" at the airport before the flight. I think its best if you call LY New York and ask them.
Tell them she is not going to be in NY/LA/MIA/CHI area. Tell them she will be in North Dakota until the flight. :)

I often find myself in DEL or BOM with a need to change my return dates and locations. Our travel agent has the change made by phone but I still sometimes need to take my paper ticket to the LY office in that city, possibly pay a fee, and have the sticker applied. Come to think of it I didn't need to do this the last time and that may be because there was no fee to be paid.
