California - Palm Springs Restaurants.

I will be in Palm Springs from December 23-30, 2006 and want to know what is the best place to book Christmas dinner? Any suggestions?

Le Valluris is a lovely French restaurant in a 1920's house on Tahquitz Canyon - I love their whitefish in dijon champagne sace. Excellent wine list & service. It the weather is still nice, ask to sit on the twinkly lighted olive treed patio!

Quite good for classic northern italian food is Riccio's, the kind of italian restaurant that just seems to fit the old Palm Springs mold. Excellent wine list along with the classic food, and most importantly they will make a decent zabaglione (off the menu). http://www.riccios-palmsprings.com/

Johannes on Indian Canyon is very good - not a real romantic atmosphere though.

In addition to Le Valauris, I'd add Spencer's at the Mountain, and Copley's. It's also worth considering the restaurant at the Parker Palm Springs hotel (some way out of town).

All are excellent.
