Hilton HHonors - reservation in Reno

I called the Diamond Desk to make a reservation for late september at the Hampton Inn & Suites Reno:

They said they had never heard of this property and couldn't find it in their system. I found this odd because it suggests they use a different computer system than the website uses.

Anyone know how I can make an award reservation at this place short of waiting until July 16th?

Not to my knowledge. I book most of my reward travel on line.

The only difference I have experienced is that if the website shows no reward availability, the CSR has been able to 'create' it for me.

With regard to Reno, the Hilton is being sold. I wonder did they mess up and take the wrong hotel out of inventory! :eek:

Not as of yesterday. At least not online. Took the Reno Hilton out and the Hampton was there. Maybe its different in their computer?

I'm just wondering whether the Hampton will even be open by the end of September. They appear to be close, but it looks much the same as it did a month ago, too.

I tried booking online but it says there is no availability. That sortof makes sense because I doubt if they've programmed in any inventory for award reservations.

Ahh, here's an idea.. Maybe I could reserve online for real money then call the DD and ask them to switch it to points?

I think the Homewood is DOA. They had a coming soon sign up for months on the vacant lot where it was/is to be located, but they took that down about a month ago. They've not even broken ground on the lot as far as I can tell so I wouldn't expect anything any time soon.
