IMPORTANT INFO:

As you all know the new usairways.com website operates in the Shares system. You can still make Sabre reservations over the phone and at many travel websites. In Sabre you receive a 6 letter record locator with an equivalent of a Shares record locator w/ 6 digits(combo of letters and numbers)! Often the Shares(America West) record stores only a portion of your flights listed under Sabre.

An example would be:

Booked in Sabre:
ORD-PIT/ PIT-PHL / PHL-PHX and back PHX-ORD
Shows up in Shares:
PHL-PHX and PHX to ORD

Its missing the ORD-PIT and PIT to PHL segements!

...thus causing you to not being able to check-in for your flights, print boarding passes and not showing an early check-in time at the airport list for upgrades in the event of you not being upgraded at your 7/4/3/2 day window respectively.

However, theres is still a site where you can check-in for your US Airways flights that were booked in Sabre system, however it is unlinked to the usairways.com website. This will effiectively check you in for your Sabre booked US Airways flights:

http://webcheckin.usairways.com/Locate.jsp

This link is also located on www.kinglobjaw.com on the left under 'Home' and will be there until the SABRE and SHARES merge!

As I reported in another posting this link doesn't always work. I think more investigation should be done before a STICKY is applied.

Today the link didn't work for a reservation that was made on May 19, 2006 (prior to switch) but did work on my reservation that was made on June 2, 2006 (post switch).

Anyone else finding that this link doesn't always work?

To be honest, after reading all of the recent threads on this forum, I am afraid to do anything on the website or any other site related to US!

This linked has worked for a couple of reservations for me, my mom and my dad all w/ seperate records for reservations made before as well as after the switch from the old usairways.com to the new usairways.com, and I can personally advise to people to use this. One things for sure It will work much better than usairways.com!

Are you sure you want to guarantee anything that has to do with US and technology during this challenging time? If you want to suggest it, that is OK, but I do not think anyone can be completely sure!

Yippee for you! But there is proof that it always work for EVERYONE! So there is no reason to state that it works consistently. I have 9 reservations made either right before the launch or following. And of those 9, only 4 would work properly with that link. I get to test again this Sunday when I am on yet another flight. We'll see if that reservation is found since it was made within minutes of the reservation I tried to OLCI with today.
