US Airways Dividend Miles - GP upgrades on HP

I have a quick question. You all know how the US Q upgrades at 1 AM PHL time (12 AM ORD time) on US operated flights. When does the Q go about clearing prefs on HP flights (also 1 AM PHL time?) Also, anyone get email about get upgraded to F? I been upgraded yesterday on my PHL to PHX (US op) and havent received any email!

The stange thing is the email is not consistent. I usually do not get the "happy" email unless I get a "sad" email first. But it is not ALWAYS that way, the best way to verify being upgraded is on the website looking at your class and seating assignments.
Also, do not trust the auto-upgrade. If you call daily, until things get better, you increase your chances of getting the open seat. Not fair, as if the seat opens, it should automatically process through the queue.. but it doesn't work that way.

Not to be a wise arse, but would it kill you to just check them in the morning?

The e-mail confirmations seem to have largely disappeared again for me, though my upgrades on HP flights are processing. (Upgrades on US East flights actually seem to be harder to get for me since the FF and DM programs merged -- did not get 1 upgrade on 3 US East flights this past week, but did get all 3 as usual on my 3 HP flights. And the so-called CP Angels just keep parroting "you're on the list" for US East flights without actually upgrading me -- what a difference from the old HP Plat/Chairman's agents in Tempe and what a disappointment in service after listening to US East CPs rave about how good the "Angels" are.)

I think HP's upgrades usually process around 1:00am PHX time, so figure around 3:00am CHI time and 4:00am PHL time. Of course most of us just look in our e-mail or online in the morning.

The two different reservations systems still in use are likely affecting the upgrade issues and the inequality between US CP agents and the HP CP agents to be able to help with transactions. I keep reading throughout this forum that those with HP/Shares reservations are better off talking to HP agents and those with US/Sabre reservations should talk with US agents.

I would call and/or check with the agent at the airport and make sure you are put on the waitlist. Sure can't hurt, since things are so inconsistent.

It used to show, but the last time I had a pending upgrade, it did not show.

I suggest calling. They may have to "force" it. I think that's what happened to me when I flew HP in April.
