Hilton HHonors - AMEX MR INTL 2003 ACQUISITION airline partner?

Apologies if this has been asked before, as I'm new to the forum and the HHonors program (status comped via Citi), but no luck searching...

One of the airline partner options for points+miles is "AMEX MR INTL 2003 ACQUISITION." What exactly is this? The name makes it sound like one could earn Amex MR points as the mileage bonus, but that doesn't seem very likely.

So... what exactly does this earning option do? :)

That's exactly what it means.

This just seems odd to me because Amex MR is not shown under the regular list of airline partners to double-dip with (just hidden in that dropdown with a funny name), and I'm not aware of any other method to gain MR points that isn't from Amex directly.

So... has anyone actually selected this option, entered their MR account number, and been getting MR points from Hilton successfully?

Edit: I did the smart thing and tried to actually select this option and enter my Amex MR account number (1Mxxxxxxxx). Hilton's website was unable to verify the information to add the link. I don't feel like trying to plug in an actual CC # to test either until I know more about exactly what this "AMEX MR INTL 2003 ACQUISITION" is...

Well its does appear you have learnt something new havent you? :)
The MR options has been in place for a few years now and I presume once HH has verified your MR NUMBER not the CC number ( since one can have more than one Amex giving MR popints) then you're off to the races. :)

Right, I understand there is one MR account per cardholder account; I figured maybe they could look up the link via CC number if necessary (I eventually tried that on the website, but same problem.)

I just called HHonors and gave them my Amex MR number, and they said it was too short. I called Amex and asked if there was perhaps a different number than the 1Mxxxxxxxx number associated with my MR account, but there isn't. Called HHonors again and got someone who kept thinking I wanted to add a link to American AIRLINES. I had to explain repeatedly that I wanted to link to American EXPRESS and noted the exact option on the airline selection dropdown. He finally took down my Amex MR number and said they would "look into it."

So again... has anyone successfully been able to earn Amex MR points as their "airline" earning option, since it IS there on the dropdown? This obviously isn't a straightforward process, if it's even actually possible.
