I've never been there before and I'm wondering what it's like. If you stayed there recently, how were you treated? How many floors is it? How's the neighborhood? I know it's near a large shopping center. Should I request a room on the opposite side of the mall? I'd like a nice quiet room if possible. :)
Thanks!

Never stayed there, but I know the Brea Mall area. Nice, pretty typical suburban mall. Something to do in the evening if you are there on business. Good selection of restaurants. I don't think it will matter if you are on the mall side of the hotel.

Can't give you room info on the property but do eat at TAPS Fish House & Brewery, about a mile or so from the hotel. They have an awesome Cioppino, and warm bread with garlic/vinegar/oil.
I believe the hotel is about 6-7 floors, near Brea Mall, the neighborhood is nice, if you enjoy shopping this is a good mall for it. Our management team stays there all the time and always go back (every week) so I guess they are treated well there.

Just ate there 2 days ago! Had the Filet Mignon - it was amazing! Much better than I expected. Sorry to the OP that I can't provide info on the ES - want to stay there as it looks nice, but the prices are always just too dang high. But I definately second eating at TAPS!

Any updates for this property? Particularly in reference to the gym. I'm staying here next week.
Thanks

Request the Skippy Henderson suite. Unlike anything you've experienced in an ES before, I'm sure.

I stayed there a couple of months ago. It's a typical Embassy Suites layout, everything was what you'd expect from ES. The desk clerk mentioned that they'd recently undergone a multimillion dollar renovation. Everything was in good repair and had a "newer" look to it.

I am staying here now and I haven't stayed at an ES in a while but everything seems just right. It is downtown Brea and has free garage self service parking. It backs up to the Brea Mall which has Nordstrom, Macys, Penneys and Sears.)
I was assigned a room on the 7th floor which is considered the HHonors floor. I think I had an "executive" room. Had a small balcony, but the balcony had no patio furniture.
The bathroom was recently renovated and had a granite shower/tub surround, granite sink counters, bath products were a brand called "Bloom"
The bed was comfy and had 3 polyester pillows and 3 feather/down pillows. The TV in both the bedroom and living space were old tube style televisions.
Ordered room service one night. The chicken breast was offered with three sauce offerings. It came swimming in Marsala wine sauce. I would ask for the sauce on the side next time. Overall it tasted decent for room service.
The breakfast was large and your standard ES breakfast. There was only one TV in the breakfast area and wasn't viewable from 95% of the tables. Egg white omelettes were available from the breakfast cook.
I only did the manager's reception one night and the food choices didn't look appetizing. The wine was the super cheap variety and not really worth the $1 tip. There is BevMo across the street to pick up a better bottle of wine to enjoy in your room.
Overall I give it a thumbs up!
