I got an email survey from priceline (funnily enough, it wasn't to the email address that I use most often for my bids).
Basically, it sounds as though priceline is thinking about starting up a new loyalty points program.
If I remember correctly, the potential "rewards" were:
(1) 24 hr access to experienced CSRs
(2) ability to change name your own price reservations within 24 hrs of the bid
(3) discounts towards the priceline service fee
(4) ability to use points for amazon.com, starbucks, etc. gift cert
(The survey asked how you would value each reward).
I didn't rate #2 all that highly, b/c I'm okay with the tradeoff of very low rates in return for non-refundable stays, and I'm concerned that the additional transparency will mean that rates will increase. (This assumes that the wise bidder always double checks before the bid to make sure everything is correct).
The Ebay Anything Points program was a big asset when it was available, but unfortunately, I doubt that any potential new rewards program will give quite the same value as Anything Points.
