If you read my most recent post in the current "Shanghai to Beijing" thread, you will note that my attempt to go to Beijing this evening was unsuccessful.
My flight was delayed (and presumably canceled) due to "weather," but it looks like inbound international flights were not threatened by the same "weather."
What has really got my mind wandering, is the closure of the access roads. My colleague who went there to pick up his son told me that --when the baricades were finally lifted-- the airport was almost completely deserted. His driver told me that a car accident was the cause of the grid-lock.
I'm guessing I'll never figure out the whole story, but I would be interested to here your theories/insights, especially from anyone else that was grounded or on the scene.
