1. Can anybody recommend a Dim Sum restaurant that opens early (7:00am~) in TST or Central area besides Luk Yu Tea House?
2. Can anybody recommend good afternoon tea places in Tsim Sha Tsui area besides Peninsula lobby or Intercon.?
Dear korean guy,
Afternoon tea and Dim sum are two different thing.
Afternoon tea are English/western
Dim sum are chinese/asian.
Which one are you asking for "open early"?

or does Korean guy mean afternoon tea deals for dim sum restaurants?
There are some restaurants which do afternoon tea deals for diners who are seated after 2:30pm. They usually have the same price for small medium and large dim sum at say HK$8 a plate.
You can try Hon Po in BP International Hotel. They have an afternoon tea dim sum.

Oooops.
Sorry about the confusion.
First, I posted a thread asking about Dim Sum restaurants that open early.
Then since there was no reply, I edited the posting to ask about afternoon tea. And guess what, the title, although I edited it, shows the original Dim Sum question as opposed to the afternoon tea.
Now I edited my posting again to make it clear.
I apologize for any confusion.
Thanks for your kind replies as well. :)

If you really want dim sum in the morning, the breakfast buffet at the Island Shangri La is quite good. All you can eat Western and Chinese breakfast, including very high quality shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, vegetable dumplings, and roast pork buns. And lots of fresh juices to choose from.
for 2-3 hundred yards down wellington street from yung kee on the same side of the street is lin heung tea house. As historic as luk yu and more 'local' i'd say.

I was doing some research on early dim sum myself and discovered that Jade Garden (a nice place in Kowloon in the Star Ferry terminal that GuyBetsy introduced me to) has a second location in Central that apparently opens at 7 am. I'm unsure of the address but I did find it cross-referenced on either Foders or Frommers if that helps. Jade Garden is owned by the Maxim's group of restaurants.

The Jade Garden on Hong Kong Island is at 1 Hysan Road, Causeway Bay. Across the street from Lee Theater. I can't find opening hours on Maxim's official site, but Frommer's says it opens at 7:30am on weekdays.
Another good dim sum restaurant from the Maxim's group is Serenade, at the Hong Kong Cultural Center, across Salisbury Rd from the Peninsula. It also has harbor view. According to the official Cultural Center website, it opes at 8am. Again, I cannot confirm.

Thanks for your info. techgirl and rkkwan.
I searched the internet, and Jade Garden on Salisbury Road TST apparently opens from 11:00am, but the one on Hysan Avenue, Causeway Bay opens from 7:30! Great.
I also found that Serenade opens from 8:30am indeed. I always went there after 12:00 noon, and didn't know it opened so early.
Thanks.
