I am flying into LGA next week and staying at Sheraton Hotel and Towers. My suite is set up, I'm not worried about check-in but am thinking about my early arrival. My flight gets in at 10am and I will have been awake all night when I get there, so I will want to lay down before my company arrives. Has anyone ever been allowed to check-in THAT early w/no penalty?
I believe the suite is being blocked off for us, but that also probably means that the guests in it won't vacate until later. What do you all think the odds are of getting an early check in as a Platinum Member at this hotel?
I have looked at old threads but can't find this specific info. So please don't flame me. I do use the search engine but it takes forever to find the info you're looking for and even then they don't answer all questions. If I knew the answers I wouldn't post.
Also- here is the Off-topic. I have used a car service over the cab many times because I found a good one who arrives on time and saves me the hassle of getting a cab. TelAviv is the service and I've had no troubles. But ironically, their website is always down! You can SEE it and you can fill in the forms to reserve (it is cheaper if you reserve online) but it takes you to an expired page. The lady I spoke to said that we can't get the special even though it is advertised on the website. I explained that I have been trying for an online reservation but it won't allow me to finish, and she stated that the fares are cheaper online but they don't honor them when the site isn't working. After many, MANY trips to NY, I have failed to reserve online each time.Could this be a ruse- a way to catch someone who thinks that they're getting the quoted price online until after they've made the call? I mean, I never can get past the expired page trouble!
I know that car services aren't important most places but this one has good rates, you avoid the cab line and you know upfront what you're paying. I just began to think that maybe, it's a bait and switch thing- they quote one rate on their site but when you can't use it, you call and pay more for the same service. I guess I'm peeved and it is the principle, not the money. Anyone else have troubles with this?
