My daughter (at university) is currently traveling in Ireland as part of a backpacking group...staying is hostels etc. But the group ends on 23 June 23 she hasn't been able to come up with a room for her last night (24 June) before she flies back to London.
She doesn't have much time on the Internet and won't have much time in Dublin to find a room.
She had a few other nights in London open and I found her $60 (yes dollars!) at the Regent Park Holiday Inn and $50 for a Heathrow Holiday Inn via Priceline. No luck on anything on Priceline or Hotwire and even the hostel sights are high (for 2 people) and I can't figure out what might be the right location for airport transport.
Do you think there is anything for under $100? They are at the end of their trip on a tight budget. Or, what is the lowest range?
Appreciate any suggestions.

A bunch of kids in my neighborhood came across what I think has to be an amazing deal. They went to a college on the outskirts of Dublin called Maynooth College or St. Patrick's College--it was either one of those. In any event, the Maynooth Campus has a conference center that offers accommodation to attendees and passing students at the rate of about E30 a night. The campus was beautiful--I saw the pictures. The people there were very friendly. They had to leave early to get a combination of buses and trains (forget which order) to the airport. I know this information is sketchy, but it's been two years since they arrived back gushing about the place.

I booked my dad a university room a few years ago at the travel office at Dublin Airport. It was on the bus line on the way into the city centre, but I don't remember the name. They city was booked solid due to a soccer game. That would certainly be worth some exploring.
Looks like Trinity College in the city centre even offers rooms.

I hope you'll post your London wins on Betterbidding. Was the Regent Park Holiday Inn a 3* bid in the Bloomsbury-Marble Arch area?
Looking into student accommodations is a good idea. I seem to remember someone suggesting Trinity College in Dublin as a possibility. Although it's quite likely such places are booked.
You might be able to find her something on Hostelworld.com - that includes all sorts of budget accommodation, not just hostels.

Thanks for these. Will check them out. Interestingly, my daughter (who we adopted at age 12 from foster care and has an Irish name and flaming red hair), has been offered a free semester or year in Ireland at one of 3 schools, so she is also interested in checking those out. All of the schools are in Northern Ireland.
Will report and also was planning to put the bids on betterbidding this weekend.
I asked for a 2* in Marble Arch area (and one other) because she was coming in late to Waterloo from Amsterdam. I was upgraded to the the 3* and had bid $60 on the first bid. So, when I wanted something near Heathrow, I picked only that area and bid $50 and was again accepted on the first bid. I was pretty shocked. The kids are happy with a private bath after hosteling.

Looks like lots of places and they are rather computerized. Maymooth look studdning--BUT--no availabilty at all on the one night. Will now pursue the hostels.

The other possibility is a guest house. I have no idea how you go about a reservation. Maybe the Irish Tourist Board has a website.
