G'day everyone, just needing some local knowledge in Alantic City. I have a conference at Trump Casino and wondering if there is a Starwood close by or should I just stay at Trump?

However, if you want casino action and your conference is there, you might be fine staying there. There is a *wood, but your choice is only one. It's a Sheraton by the Convention Center - off the strip/boardwalk. Search here for past reviews. Relatively new property and a fairly standard modern Sheraton. You'll have to cab to your conference. No casino at the Sheraton. There's only one casino hotel in AC right now that is really "worth" staying at and that's Borgata. It's where the "scene" is. But that's a decent cab ride from the strip/boardwalk as well. If your convention is at Trump Marina, though, it's practically across the street (highway - still a cab ride). I'll be in AC tomorrow- staying at the Sheraton but spending all my time at Borgata :) Summer Saturday nights are crazy $$'s in AC - unless you're using points in a program with no blackouts ;-) yevlesh2 Jun 10, 06, 1:11 am Sheraton Atlantic City is very nice, certainly nicer then all of the Trump properties combined. It is about a 5 minute walk to Ceasars!!! Here is the hotel website http://tinyurl.com/ht3mn They also have a number of special offers on their site, steven_s Jun 10, 06, 1:32 am The conference is on at Trump Taj Mahal. How far is the Sheraton Alantic CIty from there??? yevlesh2 Jun 10, 06, 4:07 am 1 mile or so. The conference is on at Trump Taj Mahal. How far is the Sheraton Alantic CIty from there??? steven_s Jun 10, 06, 6:44 am So you would recommend me staying at the Sheraton Alantic City versus Trump Taj Mahal then? I apologize having a lack of knowledge, but I am from Australia and do not know the East Coast well at all. yevlesh2 Jun 10, 06, 7:11 am Trump Taj Mahal is obviously much more convenient, but Sheraton is nicer. So it depends on what's more important to you - convience or comfort. So you would recommend me staying at the Sheraton Alantic City versus Trump Taj Mahal then? I apologize having a lack of knowledge, but I am from Australia and do not know the East Coast well at all. dknn Jun 10, 06, 8:54 am The Taj Mahal is connected to Resorts and I'm not sure if there is a still connector b/w the Showboat and the Taj. I would stay at the Taj. The rooms aren't that bad. The Showboat, a Harrah's property, opened a new hotel tower within the past year and the rooms are suppose to be nice. I haven't been to A.C. in a year but for awhile, I was basically living at Bally's for a month. So if you have any questions, PM me. BigBopper Jun 10, 06, 10:05 am The Sheraton is only convenient if you're going to an event at the convention center. I've had numerous problems at the hotel over the years. I'm ussually there for a week in August for a trade show and I dont think I've gone yet without having some sort of problem. However, the night manager may be one of the best employees in the entire *wood company. Additionally, keep in mind that AC is not the cleanest or safest city in America. They built a shopping center between the hotel and the boardwalk about 2 years ago which really helped but it still isn't nice nor safe. Between myself and friends, I know of atleast 4 or 5 instances where someone has had a gun pulled on them. Lucky no one was injured but I still would not reccomend the walk after dark. |
