Bluetooth headsets are mostly useless. I usually use the plain wired kind. But once in a while, the fancy strikes me. This would be for use with SonyEricsson and Treo phones, and sometimes with a laptop for Skype.

Recommendations, if I want the best sound, without huge size? How is the Jabra JX10 (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=jabra+jx10)? Reviews seem to be good.

I like my Motorola H500, however one of the big selling points for me was that it charged with the same charger as my phone. This obviously would not be the case with the phones you list.

I like my Nextlink Bluespoon AX2. Small, light (10g), decent battery life, good sound quality. As long as you can deal with the strange way it sticks in your ear (the speaker part sticks right into your ear canal, and there's a flexible rubber thing that fits into the groove on the middle of your ear to hold the contraption in place.) Once you get that down, it's actually quite comfortable and easy to insert. Runs about $50. Takes a "micro-USB" connector (bit smaller than the now-ubiquitous mini-USB connectors.)

I don't use my headset that often (mainly just for SkypeOut to make international calls,) so being small and light are key for me so I can just toss it in my laptop bag with minimal bulk. It's not the best sound as you seem to want (no proper noise cancellation, but in a quiet environment the sound quality is quite good) but its size might fit what you're looking for if you're not trying to use it on the road.

If you want to spend 5x that, you can get the Bluespoon 5G (named for its 5g weight) that's even smaller and has horrible battery life. It comes with 4 batteries and a multiple battery charger since they don't last very long!

Edit: Hmm, the Jabra JX10 you mentioned is around 10g too (but externally noticeably bigger than the AX2), and looks to have decent active noise cancellation. Website says you can even wear it without the earclip (though I'm curious how well it'd fit like that.) I'm getting tempted by one of those now. :)

Jabra are good, but the I prefer the BlueAnt x3 Micro (http://www.blueant.com.au/downloads/brochures/X3micro_brochure.pdf) . Better battery life by about 15%

+1 For my Logitech one. Has great range with my TMO SDA and sounds great/works well for the other end.

I am also very interested in this as I have an IBM X40 and would love to find a booth tooth head set that would work with this baby.

Any recommendations??/

I have used the plantronics 640 and jabra 250 on my x41 with bluetooth and skype, works fine.

I use the bt250 now, looking to maybe make the jump to a bt500.

I have the H500 and don't find that it's loud enough. Also, the part that wraps around your ear to hold it in place gets very uncomfortable after a bit.

Thinking of switching back to Jabra or to Plantronics.

I've got the Jabra 350. Like it as far as looks and audio on my end, but when you crank up the volume, people compalin about hearing themselves. Seems that the speaker doesn't have any sort of ?gasket? and doesn't really stick into your ear canal, so the earpiece noise gets picked up by the microphone...

You should buy one that uses the same charge as your phone.

All else is irrelavant, and if you do buy something else, you will not use it.

What, no gold chain?

I used it to save a very dear friend from drowning in ennui.

I ordered the JX10.

I hope it arrives before I tire of it.

I wear glasses. Does that affect the bluetooth design I should chose? I'm concerned that any earpiece that wraps around the top of my ear won't go on easily due to the glasses frame.

I have been using the Motorola HS805 with my sunglasses on. I have had no issues with the glasses. At times I forget the headset is even there.

I had no problems with my Motorola HS810 and sunglasses either. Some headsets might be a problem... Check out the Bluespoons if you want zero chance of glasses-headset collision. Had the original Bluespoon a couple years ago, and I'm onto the Bluespoon AX2 now after my HS810 started to die. (In-ear headphones, in-ear Bluetooth headset, hmm... I'm starting to get worried about what else I might want to start sticking in my ears. :))

Well, I use a Plantronics 640 as someone else who posted earlier. I'm using a Treo 650 and it works lovely with it. I also have a 1yr old Moto H850 that I use as a backup. I would say find a headset that has an earbud b/c it will give you better sound quality.

I run the Jabra x10 with a Blackberry 8700g. Excellent! The proof test is my mother being able to hear me clearly while I'm driving :p Discrete, light and good sound... all I want!
