K since "some" feel I could of gotton by cheaper then $65.00 a day in Hawaii ($130.00) per couple. (airfare, car, lodging)
Can I get some pointers on my next adventure to get the most bang for the buck.
What we are planning it to go to Corpus Christi, (San Padrea Islands) for the Winter (January-February)
What would be considered a good bargin as far as lodging? I have to have a rental where I can achive internet access (as I will be working during the day as normal).
I found one place that is willing to rent to me for $795.00 a month that he rents for $600.00 a week in peak season. This is across the street from the ocean and a (1) bedroom condo. This averages about $35.00 a day for lodging untilities/tax included.
Does this seem like an alright deal?
Now we are not sure if it has to be Corpus that we stay at.. we just want to be next to the OCEAN(front or very close) and warmer then Idaho for the 2 Winter months.
Or does anyone know of how I could get by cheaper? Different state towns etc? Suggestions please?
I believe my airfair will be on an award ticket so the cost there will be the taxes. If I can find one available otherwise about $700 - 800.00 to fly their for (2) RT
Any suggestions on a car rental?
Thanks,

800 bucks for a month isn't too bad, IMHO - but then again, I don't know much about that market.

The condo deal sounds all right, though I'm not sure this board has a lot of expertise in the Snowbird arena (I know I don't). Most miles-driven trips don't involve monthly rentals, and the usual RTW budget trip is typically pretty footloose unless there's some singular purpose (e.g. teaching English in Spain), in which case I'd argue it gets into a different turf. On car rents you have to be sure any insurances you would be leaning on will cover it. In my case 2 weeks is the limit; anything more and it's not considered for-vacation. Some people have gotten a pretty rude surprise on that one. Would also imagine that Uninsured Motorist can be a problem in South Padre with all the Tamps and Nuevo Leon cars driving around there.
OTOH, maybe the next $3 Hilton deal will be in CRP. ;)

Hi,
I may be missing something, but since when is Corpus Christi near an ocean? Or are you talking about the Gulf of Mexico?
And as far as the price, $800 per month in peak season for a resort town sounds reasonable enough.

That was a reference to the now-infamous $3 Hilton deal in Japan, which was honored for some people but not for others. Tons of discussion and venting over in Hotel Deals subsection of the Mileage Run forum.
