Am I able to collect frequent flier miles when I fly on SQ using my UA mileageplus card? I know there are some fares on SQ which do not allow Krisflyer members to collect miles. Does this apply to UA mileageplus also?

Yes, any SQ fare that doesn't earn miles on Kris Flyer will not earn miles on any FFP.

The converse also applies, any fare that earns Kris Flyer miles will also earn Mileage Plus miles if you want to credit to UA.

Thanks for the info. I'll just be sure to be careful to watch what fares I am looking at before I book my flights.

Examples from top of my head include SK Eurobonus, TG ROP and OZ Bonus Club.

So if you're flying SQ W class, be careful which program you credit your flight to, because although many airlines are giving 100%, some others are giving either zero, 25% or 50% etc etc.

Sure earning rates vary considerably between FFPs. That's why it pays to do research into booking class and earning of your FFP(s).
