Hi there,

had to travel a couple of times to Sao Paulo the last three months. On my last flight out of GRU at the end of May we had LSG SkyChefs stickers on our meals. This was the first time and it really payed off.
Meals were much better than before.

Does anyone know if KLM switched their caterer in GRU ?

Thanks !

Many happy landings !

let's get this over to the KLM forum where your answers will be more plentiful, methinks.

Correct. LSG SkyChefs is AF's caterer (for both GRU and GIG flights), and now they have a single AF+KL contract. AF and KL also operate under one single office in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

My last return flight from GRU on KLM coach in MArch was a disaster in terms of catering.
flight leaves at 9pm and I was expecting a full meal to be served just after take off. Instead of that we had a so called snack. No choice was allowed it was a snack box with three leafs of old green salad two pieces of beef and crackers, it was really minimal. All people arround me complaind as we had to wait for 8 to 9 hours before getting the next things to eat. Before landing they served an hot breakfast with two choice usual omelette or pancake things.
That was really bad catering and in my opinion not appropriate for this kind of flight. I was more expecting a full meal + a ligth breakfast that I could have easily complemented once I was in AMS airport if needed.

I did complained hardly as well as several other pax arround me don't know if it is related. Are they still serving this snack box now???

Thanks hardiwv for the reply - I hoped someone on the forum knows details, as the flight attendants did not.

@ Pauillac: I flew out of GRU in December, February and May and if I recall correctly, on the first two flights there was no choice during the dinner service - only the snackbox. Just on the last trip there was a choice of two entrees.
For me personally: I made my "selection" during the reservation process, as I tried different special menus on my trips (e.g. Vegan, Asian vegetarian and Non-lactic meal).
On my next flight to GRU in May I will choose the NLML again, as this was the best choice during my trips (in- and outbound). On the last outbound flight I got a big roasted chicken-breast that filled the complete dish. I've sent pictures to airlinemeals.net, but they aren't posted yet.

Many happy landings !
André
