Despite my strong advice that my company go with RIM, a couple of the VPs are enamored with the Motorola Q. Aside from the eeeeevil operating system, any experiences, bugs or general comparisons to, say, an 8700???

Aside from the eeeeevil operating system, any experiences, bugs or general comparisons to, say, an 8700??? nmenaker Jun 2, 06, 9:18 am well, since it was only just released on one carrier this week, there are not going to be many serious reports. It was extended a bit, and then a bit more which leads me to thing they were having at least SOME issues. First reports are that it is nice, works pretty well, but personally, as an email dominant device it is very hard to beat a blackberry. I got to use one for a few minutes in the verizon store two days ago, it was nice in the hand, but a little bit squirly, not a fan of blackberry's myself, I would still choose the BB today. CPRich Jun 2, 06, 10:02 pm Looked at it, but the 700p beats it hands down as a serious email device. Reviews I've read say the same. Plus the Verizon data rates are extortionate, even with the significant Spring increases. auh2o Jun 3, 06, 11:38 am Kind of funny... http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/ptech/06/01/motoq.ap/index.html wjudge Jun 5, 06, 10:49 am I got one on Saturday, and I really really like it. I got the unlimited data and 1350 minutes per month for $109.99 - but may need to upgrade to the $169.99 plan with 4000 minutes. I like the BB-like scroll wheel - it is a bit wider than the BB, but much thinner. The sync to my hotmail and outlook is awesome... ^ rebadc Jun 5, 06, 11:45 am Played with one this weekend. If it had GSM built in I would buy it. the screen is very nice crisp, clear and very bright. With the mini SD slot and stereo BT I would have no problem watching video. I have the samsung 730 and only check email. I dont quite get the whole windows mobile thing. Does anyone work on word or excel document on a phone/pda? As soon as the GSM version is out I'm in. "So, Bond, how did the new cell phone work out?" "Fine, Q. It has excellent aerodynamic properties." "I'm sorry?" "I tossed it at a Russian agent, stunning her. Then I took her Treo." |
