I am trying to help a friend book a trip from the East Coast to TLV o/b June 28 or 29 and return July 21. I have no idea what the Lowest possible fare to try and find is...coming up with 1300ish from PHL. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
He's trying to book by today as an incentive to receive 50% of a stipend now...otherwise will have to wait for reimbursement until the end of summer.
Thanks!

Back in April, I was shopping around for NYC-TLV. Best I found was $880 on AF. Then a month later, CO went down in price for the non-stop EWR-TLV for about $850 or so. Haven't looked at prices since (I bought a CO ticket for a slightly higher price to ensure 100% EQM's, so my ticket ended up being $930). Good luck!

Thanks...the standard search engines (kayak, travelocity, expedia, orbitz, farecompare) are showing me the 1200-1300 range as the lowest. Many of those, however are a mix of two or 3 different airlines between 4 legs. Since I usually don't book Int'l I am having a hard time recreating (or even finding) the int'l legs on the US carriers direct websites.

$1300 seems about right. I can't find anything cheaper than $1269 for those dates. I highly doubt that you're going to find anything under $1000 for summer travel to TLV, but you might try looking for consolidators in the newspaper. Also be sure and give Israir a call (they run flights from JFK to TLV).

any fare Purchased on CO.com gets you 100% of the miles including the stautus miles as well for future info. If you purchase an 'H or Y' fare you get 150% in the way of status miles, and a BF tkt will get you Double the Miles I believe regarding both Reg Miles and EQMs

Sorry - forgot to mention I'm crediting the miles to NWA, so I needed one of the 100% EQM eligible fares...

Ok...My friend just got back in town and is asking me to help him book his PHL-TLV tix. Ugh! Needs to be there before Jul 2 and leave after Jul 20. I can't really focus on this until tonight and the 14day adv. window is shrinking greatly.
Kayak is show me multiple airlines combos, one of which uses ARKIA air - never heard of them. ISRAir has nothing until July 6. Another Kayak combo shows using US/ElAl and booking through Orbitz in the 1300 range.
Is there any way to book these combos through one or both of the airline's sites? Will booking through Orbitz earn him miles (He's not a hardcore traveler, so price is more important than miles)?
Or does anyone have a (gasp) travel agency to recommend?
Thanks for any and all suggestions...:)

Arkia is an Israeli airline. It and Israir used to fly mostly domestic (TLV-Eliat and such), but have branched out into European flights.

Booking through Orbitz is like booking through any travel agent. As long as the fare is eligible to earn miles, he'll earn miles just like if he bought the ticket directly. You usually can't book multiple-airline itineraries through the airlines' websites (except for aa.com, which sometimes works for other airlines).

thats what I LOVE about Orbitz. It can and does find the cheapest Flights and then puts them together. so you can have a trip that will be on more than 2 Carriers. Watch the Layover Time sometimes its really BAD especially on Intl flights. Ive seen almost 24 hrs numerous times, the record being 37+ 1 time.
