Other Middle East and Africa Frequent Flyer Programs - connection time in HKG to LY76

LY076 used to leave HKG 9:55 pm, but now i booked for August and found out its 20:55 arriving 4 am...

consequence: to connect in time fm Japan one must take an early morning flight fm Tokyo and wait a good 7-8 hrs in HKG (my choice is limited to CX or JL)

I could really use a few more hours anywhere in Japan rather than waste them in HKG. I found a CX flight leaving Nagoya 4:30 pm and arriving HKG 19:40.

That should leave, on paper, 1:15 hrs to connect to LY 076, with luggage....
Would you go for it, or wouldnt you, my fellow LY passengers...?

and whats the official minimum connection time allowed in HKG airport?

with el al security i wouldnt risk anything under 3 hours especially if you have luggage. the security screening process can take a while.

If it was me id take the early morning flight from Japan and leave 8 hours in HKG, get the airport express into the city and go for a wander around hong kong, go up victoria peek if its clear and a ride on the famous star ferry
