Air New Zealand Air Points - AKL Airbus

On the home page www.airbus.co.nz mentions loyalty card coming soon, ride 3 times get 4th free. Not sure if this replaces the existing round trip fare (in which case a net slight increase on current rates), or is additional to.

There is also a timetable (http://www.airbus.co.nz/images/resources/site2/2295_001.pdf) loaded, although my experience is that schedules are very approximate and not to be relied on (at any hour of the day).

Round trip fares are still valid and can be used with the loyalty card.

Best suited for regular visitors to AKL (or residents), but a couple sharing a card could save up to $7 on a single visit to AKL by buying 1 round trip and 1 one way (the other way being free).

There are two changes to the airbus route.

1) On the way to the airport the airbus no longer goes by the Langham hotel, instead it runs straight up Queen Street and across Karangahape Road into Symonds Street. The nearest stop to the Langham and City YHA is opposite Kiwi International near the top of Queen Street. On the way from the airport the airbus continues to stop outside Langham hotel.

2) The airbus no longer stops between the last inner city stop (ie Kiwi International) and the Mt Eden rail station. Ie doesn't stop on upper Symonds Street or outside Galbraiths on the way to the airport.

As usual there was no advance notice of the changes :(

I thought the changes where just till the roadworks on Symonds St are finished, Just like all the other bus route changes at the moment thanks to roadworks in town.

The roadworks aren't yet up that high (bit between Wakefield Street and City Road).

IMHO the Au NZ Pacific forum (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/australia-new-zealand-south-pacific-461/) is a more suitable home for the bus info. There other airlines at AKL, not just Air NZ ;)
