It looks like I might be flying Jet Blue from SEA-JFK. I've heard that the customer service is mighty good but I was wondering about the quality of the flight. Are the seats comfortable? Are they jammed packed or is there plenty of wiggle room? I know they don't have food service which is no biggie since I can bring my own if need be or stuff my face before boarding. Any insight would be super cool before making the purchase.
Thanks,
Greg

Be forewarned, I am a fan of Continental Airlines. Having said that, I have taken jetBlue flights when I can't get a good seat on a CO flight. Being quite honest, jetBlue has a far superior product in most respects to Continental. I believe that Continental has a superior product to other legacy carriers, so I guess what I'm saying is that jetBlue beats them all. (I am talking coach here :) ) jetBlue has pushed the proverbial envelope when it comes to comfort and service. I'd be surprised if you're disappointed.

As a veteran CO OP Elite I can tell you that JetBlue is hands down superior to CO, certainly in coach.
First, let's face it, the essence of the product is the in-flight experience. CO does a lot of essentially irrelevant "side" stuff to make its elite pax feel special (the silly blue carpet for elite boarding, etc.) but the fact of the matter is that once you sit down in CO's horrendous 737 coach cabin with its rock-hard seats and knee-crushing 31" of seat pitch, the only reaction should be "oy vey."
On JetBlue you're still flying a relatively small single-aisle plane (A-320) but it has a much wider aisle, and you'll get 32" of seat pitch up to row 11, tons of legroom if you can score the two exit rows, and then a wonderful 34" of seat pitch from row 14 back (as long as I have been flying JetBlue I have always been able to select an aisle seat in the rear section).
The seats themselves are leather-bound and very comfortable. And, of course, you have an individual TV with 36 channels as well as 4 pay-per-view movie channels. The 3 extra inches of leg room means you can deploy your laptop screen and work (on CO if the seat in front of you reclines and you have a standard full-size laptop, you will not be able to keep the screen open).
No, there is no meal service to speak of on JetBlue, but will you really miss CO's awful plastic sandwich? I hope not. What I do is go to my favorite deli and buy a really great take-out meal.
And pillows! CO makes a big deal in its advertising that it still has pillows. So does JetBlue (and they're more comfortable).
Another plus is the lavatory situation. The vast majority of the planes CO flies transcon are 737's with one lavatory reserved for FC in the front, and then two in the back for as many as 141 economy pax. On JetBlue you'll have access to the front lavatory so the line for the bathroom is shorter. And since the JetBlue f/a's don't do a full service there is no cart constantly blocking the aisle when you need to go to the bathroom.
I have found the service on JetBlue to be friendlier than most of what I have experienced on CO out of EWR.
At this point, I would say JetBlue is easily the most premium coach product available in the United States today.
I used to kill myself to fly CO with the hope that Iwould qualify for elite status and then receive upgrades. But upgrades out of EWR are essentially not available any more and miles are virtually impossible to cash in, so what's the point?
Regarding fares, I think you'll find that in most cases JetBlue will not be the absolute cheapest upon initial purchase. But if you're like me and many of your trips involve itinerary changes, you'll find that these are much easier and cheaper to accomplish on JetBlue than most legacy carriers, especially CO which has one of the most restrictive policies on the application of ticket credits of non-refundable fares.
I am actually enjoying air travel again thanks to JetBlue. I think you will agree.

Alright y'all impressed me enough to book my first flight on Jet Blue. Since I live in Seattle I always fly Alaska but on this trip to NYC and my first one at that Alaska really bites on airfare out that way. Jet Blue is about 50ish dollars cheaper then Alaska. So here goes nothing and hope that Jet Blue really wows me.

Hello JetblueNYFL
I've noticed that your a BIG fan of Jetblue's & seem to be the "know all" there is to know about our company. However...there is a few discrepancies in your list here & I would like to correct them for you if I may.
We also have Hot Chocolate just to add to your list of drinks. I don't know how long the soup or HC will last since we're going into our summer season. We don't alway's have Earl Grey as a tea option. They haven't stocked us for quite some time & if there is some on board it might just be leftover's. However...wouldn't hurt to ask if we have it. Our "Club Soda" is actually Seltzer as there is a difference due to sodium content. Believe it or not, some pax do know the difference and make the decision based on that fact. New to our Liquour cart...we DO NOT have Twin Fin anymore. We now stock "Just" wines from France. Our whites are Sauginon Blanc and our red is Merlot. As far as the XM Radio, Live TV will begin upgrading the A320 fleet with 100+ channels of XM Satellite Radio in late 2006 (the system is already on the entire E190 fleet). In the interim, DIRECTV will deliver a sample of five relaxing XM Radio to Customer's flying on the Shut-Eye Service. The XM preview channels preempt informercial programming that would normally be showing on our DIRECTV system during the overnight hours.
I hope all this was helpful to you and please continue the know all's of our company. I've been quite impressed. Take Care. :)

Thanks for the updates! Just so you know, that list of drinks and snacks I posted was copied and pasted DIRECTLY from www.jetblue.com .....I know that the snack items change from month to month, but that was direct from their site. For example, 2 weeks ago they had Rold Gold Pretzels and then 2 days ago I flew and they didn't have it. Some times it is almonds, sometimes cashews...etc.
Anyway, thank you for your added snacks!

Not to mention on our longhaul flights, the inflight crew is suppose to set up a snack bar in the back galley. This is usually done right after the first full service. Any time you feel hungry just take a stroll to the back galley and help yourself to an unlimited amount of snacks. Some inflight crew, like myself, will also set up some pop's and water for customers to have with their snacks while we are inbetween service runs.

They did that on a few of my transcons including JFK-SEA, JFK-LGB and JFK-SAN. Keep up the good work...it's the inflight crewmembers like yourself who are the true reason behind jetBlue's success and bright future! Also, if you ever make boarding announcements, just a funny little line is telling the customers on board the name of that airplane. It's very cool when the captain tells customers that jetBlue's inflight crewmembers are the best in the sky and the people onboard give them a round of applause.
In addition to the snack bar in the rear galley, I love when flight attendants carry the bottled waters in the apron pockets so those who order water for beverage choice have it right away!
