Air New Zealand Air Points - Refitted 747 'self service' area
Does the self service area in the forward (C) cabin in the refitted 747 tend to generate a lot of noise?
I'm hopefully sitting in 4K, and don't really want to be bothered by people congregating round this thing to chit-chat.
I'm an old grump at the tender age of 35, I know ;)

There was no noise on my flight last month. There isnt much room to congregate though. There are no stools to sit.
In the forward C cabin - my partner and I were the only people under the age of 50 (we are both ~ 30), so it wasnt a very rowdy crowd.
I think I was the only person who used self-serve bar and that was only for 1 drink. The rest of the time the FAs made the rounds and it seemed like everyone went to bed around the same time.
Sorry for the disjointed answer, but hope it helps.

I have taken this seat before and there was no noise at all. Like SFO_Chad, no-one seemed to use it .. and again, not many people under 50 in the cabin (this includes me!!) so don't know if that had anything to do with it. Had more disruption from snoring than drinking! :D

Agree with others. Also, no one uses the self service area b/c there's not much put there -- a few bottles of water, some crisps/cookies. 1/2 of my flights they haven't put anything there.

Most pax sleep for much of the flight. I wouldn't worry too much about noise.

What about the upper deck? No self-service area there? I'm currently the only pax sitting there, so they'll probably forget about me anyway - until some cleaning crew in LHR discovers my dehydrated corpse... :D
And yes, I promise to die silently. ;)

On the upper deck, there's a small self-service bar at the back of the business premier section.
