Air New Zealand Air Points - Can you earn Airpoints $ on VS's N class?

Hi, guys one of my friends is going to travel to HKG from SYD on VS's N class, he has got NZ membership, if he can earn NZ point on VS's N class fare?

1.3.2 Route restrictions and residency conditions may apply to earning Airpoints Dollars on Partner Airlines - and some Partner Airlines' booking classes may have different earning rates for Airpoints Dollars. This depends on each Partner Airline's terms and conditions. Booking class eligibility and Airpoints Dollars' earning rates can be changed without notice. You can't earn Airpoints Dollars for travel on:

1.3.5 Virgin Atlantic doesn't operate a business or first class. Effective from 1 October 2005, if you're travelling in "Premium Economy" class you'll earn Airpoints Dollars equivalent to the full economy class rate, and if you're travelling in "Upper Class" you'll earn Airpoints Dollars equivalent to business class rate. You can earn Airpoints Dollars on Virgin Atlantic Flights VS 501-504, VS 522-523, operated by Malaysia Airlines. You can only earn Airpoints Dollars on Virgin Atlantic's booking class N on Flights between London and Johannesburg, Capetown, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Delhi.


So looks like no airbucks for your friend unless he upgrades to a higher fare.
