Air New Zealand Air Points - Minor change to airpoints card

I notice mine now has first name instead of initial. Not sure if its related to hassles getting partner airbucks credited properly?

Oh and the list of hotels to redeem complimentary upgrade, and car rentals upgrade has changed slightly.

Intercontinental no longer available :td: and one of the car rental co's (Hertz? hmm have to check which one - don't have the voucher on me now) is now limited to NZ only

It should have something to do with partner crediting. I tried to change how my name to appear on my GlobalPlus credit card with Bank of New Zealand and they said it must match exactly my Airpoints card and they were unable to change. As I know, BNZ is one of the few partners who has implemented some sort of automated credit system with Airpoints.

I also notice Air NZ recently updated their logo. This can be seen on Star Alliance website and inflight magazine. I am surprised not to see this update elsewhere. It would be nice to see the new logo on the membership card.

The logo on www.staralliance.com doesn't look any different to me and seems to be the same as on my card.

I do vaguely recall reading about a new logo coming - couldn't remember if it was on FT, in the NZ magazine or elsewhere.

Is the change the "N" and "Z" are smaller (match lower case letter's size)?

I think mainly just move the Koru sign to the right and slightly change of color.

I'm still suprised that even today they still have those silly car rental and hotel upgrade vouchers; being valid only over the weekend I'd be suprised if half are ever used.

I have used less than half of these that I have received, and the loss of Intercontinental from the scheme will not help improve the usage ratio.
