I need to get from SAN to the convention center. Does anyone have an idea of what the cab fare would be? Any other suggestions aside from taking a taxi, to get from the airport to the convention center? Thanks for your help.

Options are taxi, shared shuttle or public transit.

Last February, I took a shuttle from the airport to the Omni Hotel (across the street from the Convention Center), and took a cab back to the airport.

IIRC, the shuttle was $8.00 plus tip, and the taxi was maybe $12 or 13 plus tip (note that this was on a weekend morning with little traffic). The downside to the shuttle is having to wait for other passengers to board before departure and to be dropped off.

For transit, you would take bus # 992 from the front of the airport terminal to the designated trolley transfer station, then take the Orange Line trolley to the Convention Center station. The fare is about $2.25 (I think that this covers both the bus and the trolley, but I'm not 100% sure of that).

Yeah, take a taxi, it's fast, convenient, and cheap. With tip, it should be less than $15.
