InterContinental Hotels: Priority Club & Inter-Continental Ambassador - Days Hotel -> Crown Plaza?

I just saw a new Crown Plaza which used to be a Days Inn in Herndon, VA (near IAD). Should it rebranded as Holiday Inn instead of Crown Plaza? :confused:

BTW, the exterior photo still shown as Days Hotel...

must have been one heck of a Days Inn...or some people are in for a suprise when booking this one!

Did you read the homepage of the hotel?

"The Crowne Plaza is undergoing a $7 million renovation and will become the Crowne Plaza Dulles Airport April/May 2006. Renovations will include new guest room furnishings and guest bathrooms with granite counters"

The Days Inn DCA was rebranded a Radisson without renovation. Guess that says something about the Radisson chain, eh?

With my experience with two Crown Plaza's lately, staying at a Days Inn might be an improvement. I'm actively avoiding Intercontinental hotels if at all possible.
