My family (boys 12 & 9) will be staying at the SPT in June. We are looking for casual and moderately price places to eat not too far from the hotel. We eat just about any type of foods.
Thanks in advanced for you help.

I really like this place - a very informal cafe, with some of the best coffee in London. I've been going to the Knightsbridge location since the early/mid 90s. A short walk from the hotel - in fact, I was staying at the same hotel when I found it - same side of the street as Harrods, further down the road.

Wagamama's! Perfect for a young family, and very moderately priced too. Great fusion food for you and a separate kids menu too. I doubt if you'll find freshly cooked decent food at this price anywhere else in the vicinity of this rather expensive area of London.
From the hotel, walk out of the main entrance, and take a left and then another left. IIRC, it's on the other side of the road, in the Harvey Nichols building, in the basement. Just off Knightsbridge.

Another option for American comfort food, is "Mo's Diner", one of the casual, kids friendly restaurants serving food in Harrods. It's either on the 4th or 5th floor. The food is burgers, pizzas, steak, omelettes, kids menu etc. All mains are priced around £7-9 IIRC.

I agree with the recommendation of Wagamama's, which is right next door to the Park Tower (AJ's directions work if you come out of the hotel on the Knightsbridge side. If you are coming out the main door near reception, take a right hand turn, turn right on the street and walk to the end of the block - the entrance to Wagamama is directly across from the entrance to the Park Tower casino).
You may also want to check out Harrod's 102, which is a new food hall they have opened across the street from the main Harrod's store. Great place to stop for a quick bite or pick up some essentials for the room.

huge fan of the patisserie valeries in general i have to say -did you know they made the cakes for Madonna and Paul McCartneys weddings?!
Anyway, in general that area is very expensive, the side street by the hotel also has a few little restaurants on it, which may also be worth checking out.

Spot on! Glad you clarified that, as I always use the entrance next to One-o-One on Knightsbridge.
Since I guess we are talking about London...
Pizza on the Park is a great place to eat. Live jazz, great Italian food and and fun atmosphere. We had a Flyertalk dinner there earlier this year. I've eaten there many times although I stay at the Belgravia rather than the Park Tower.

Definitely a good recommendation. Window tables are especially good. For the OP and his/her kids, I would recommend lunch over dinner, if going to this place. In the evenings, with the jazz etc, the atmosphere can often get quite couply and intimate here.
They have jazz on Sunday afternoons too. But I've never seen it when it's not kid-friendly. Maybe later at night. Sunday afternoons are quite fun there.

Absolutely. Sunday afternoons would be fine. ^ A couple of times in the evenings though, I found it to have a few odd couples who were <ahem> playing with each other more than with their food. ;)

One-o-One is excellent but a little expensive with the kids.

Borscht and Tears would be great for the family. Real fun Russian folk music, great Chicken Kiev and decent prices. However someone told me they might be closing. Anyone have recent news?

If budget is an issue and you want to do a couple of picnic meals in addition to your restaurant meals, Harvey Nichols is directly across the street and has a nice, little food hall on the top floor. I purchased my favorite meal I had in London there and ate it in my beautiful Park Tower room: A bottle of Veuve Clicquot, Brie De Meaux, and crusty baguette. Surprising, but HN had VCP for 25 pounds. I also enjoy the British style sandwiches from the likes of Marks & Spencer (there is one near Harrods). It is kind of refreshing to have a simple sandwich rather than the massive things we get in the USA. Wensleydale and carrot chutney was one I remember fondly. Finally the afternoon tea at the Park Lane is very nice, but that would probably be something of a bore for the kids.
Tip: You can ask room service for a coffee and tea service. This will be a kettle with instant cofee and tea bags. It is free.

Which is why no one suggested it as an option! ;)
