I just found out about this promo from a coworker. He didn't remember any deatails. And since the search function isn't working I have a few questions. If I need to call the Diamond desk I would like some details.
What are the details of this promotion??
Is it too late??
How do I register??
Thanks in advance.

Is it perhaps the 3/5/7 stays gets 1/2/3 free nights promo referred to in this thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=374653)?

Unfortunately, the 3/5/7 free night promotion is a targeted promotion. Members who were targeted for it had the promotion code dropped on their account automatically. If you weren't targeted for the promotion, you won't receive any information on it.

I earned three C601 certificates through the 5/10/15 promo. I tried to use them for a three night stay at a hotel with no reward availability (plenty of regular availability) through the Diamond Desk. The rep there tells me that I can't use the Diamond Reservation Guarantee with these certificates, but I can use my points for it. She told me that the certificates earned through the promo are only good for rewards reservations with regular availability, and not with the Diamond guarantee.
Is this true? Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Yes,
I booked through the Diamond Desk with a reward certificate and later, the points were deducted from my account anyway.

According to my reading of HHonors T&Cs plus my experiences, the “Diamond Guarantee” only applies to reservations paid for with money, not for award rooms.
For Award Rooms, the Diamond Desk is almost always able to do a “Diamond Override” to get a room using an award when the hotel is showing no award availability (as long as a standard room is available for a reservation paid for with money). But that override is NOT a guarantee in the T&Cs. It is just something that is done more often than not.

Right - and when they do that - the points are "forced" right out of your account. You dont actually get a cert - but an email that confirms your reservation

Thanks for everyone's helpful comments. I understand that the Diamond Guarantee is only for paid stays, not award stays, but that oftentimes the Diamond Desk will work out an override for you even for award stays.
I was just confused because the Diamond Desk was willing to do a Diamond Override for me using my points, but not using my reward certificate. I thought that they were exactly the same thing, but I now understand from the comments in this thread that they are not.

I used my 5/10/15 promotional certs on a diamond override reservation. No points were deducted from the account and the confirmation letter I received from the Diamond Desk specifically listed "Promotional Certificates" as the form of payment. When I made the reservation, the agent offered to do a special arrangement knowing I was using these certs as payment.

Still, you have a year left to use them, so it's not like they have a 30-day window or anything ike that.

I subscribed for the 5/10/15 promotion to get 1/2/3 night certificates.
I have a reservation for 3 rooms at the Hilton Convention center for 5 nights.
Does it mean I will reach the 15 nights target and get 3 night certificates or chances are I will get only 5 nights and 1 certificate even if I have 3 rooms under my name.
Next question is as Diamond, Should I have free breakfast for each room?
Thanks

For HHonors points you will only get credit for one room -- it's always the room you spent the least amount of money on too! I'm appealing this with a recent stay where I booked a jr. suite for myself and another room for a friend who paid for the room themselves.
Your diamond benefits will only apply to the room you are staying in.
I don't have the T&Cs for your promotion -- but I'm willng to bet it only includes 1 room per night.

For someone with over 1k posts i'm very dissapointed in you!
You may earn Base point credit for up
to two rooms per stay, if all eligible charges for both rooms are paid on one
folio. Base point credit will be earned for all eligible folio charges incurred on
both rooms. Bonuses issued on Base points or total folio charges, including tier
bonuses (15%, 25% or 50%, depending on member tier) and double or triple
Base point promotions, will apply to the total Base point credit earned or folio
charges incurred for both rooms.

Thanks for looking up the exact rule. I was going to paraphrase it until i saw your accurate response.
The only thing I want to add is that although getting points for two rooms on the same folio is the Rule, I have had problems with the execution. Make sure that the front desk really consolidates two rooms onto one folio and then check your statement or you may only get your points for one of the rooms.

You should have received (will receive?) an e-mail cert within a week or so after that stay posted. Check the Reward Redemption section in your account online to see whether anything shows there. That's where they show up first. Then the e-mail arrives some time after that.

For me, it has taken anywhere from a month plus to a week.
The month plus involved at least 5 emails, possibly more (going from memory, I do have the emails saved) to get the cert. If I remember correctly it ended up being snail mailed to me. (And yes, I checked my SPAM folder every day, etc).
If you don't get it after two weeks I would email or call.

Similar experience. 1st one posted within a week, was emailed. 2nd one had to be chased, finally posted after 3 weeks, was snail-mailed. 3rd one I just earned this past weekend so not there yet.
At any rate, even if it's for whatever reason it is not emailed or snail-mailed to you in time for your intended stay, as soon as the certificate number shows up online on your account, you can have HHonors customer service email or fax it to your intended property.

Both of these are related to the 5, 10, 15 promotion
1) Recently my flight from Atl got delayed. Originally I was due to arrive at 11 pm but with the delay was told I would not be at my destination until 2 or 3 am. Knowing that the hotel was fully booked and slightly worried they may figure I was a no show and with nothing better to do, I called the Hampton Inn that I was scheduled to stay at that evening to let them know that I would not be arriving until sometime around 3am. After confusing the lady on the phone at first she then told me she would hold the room and put in an expected 5 am arrival time just to be sure. Now when I look at my account it shows an arrival and departure on the same day. Does that mean I will not get credit for the night???
2) I should have my 15th night (provided the one before counts) on the night of February 28th (departure on March 1st), will this count?
Thanks for your help!

#1 I had the same problem when my flight arrived into LAS 3 hrs late and meant that I would get to my Ham by LAX way after midnight. I called the Diamond desk up to make sure they understood it wasnt a day room thing. They told they would take care of it and they did, proff was that I needed it for my 10th stay and got the Free Night in my acct.
#2 I would think as long as you checked in before 2/1 that it would count, ask when you call up about #1

Short stays at cat 6 properties. Instead of burning 80K for 2 nights use the certs. AXON is a good deal for 4 nights, GLON is excellent for 6 and those certs cover short stays and extra nights on top of ALONs and GLONs.

Hi. I posted this last night but I wanted to highlight on the old 5/10/15 night promotion thread but I wanted to highlight this to make sure others did not make the same mistake I did. When I was signed up for the 5/10/15 night promotion, I thought I carefully counted out all 15 nights. However I included one award night in my count. When I didnt see my third "free night" post, I went to chaat and asked. Mary James told me that the award night didnt count. I went back to the Ts and Cs and nothing was mentioned there on definitions, it referred to another website. On this website, the definition of stay was posted in bold and this was just what I remembered. However later down the page, qualified stay mentioned a paid night.
Obviously I am disappointed an my options are limited at this point. I am considering a one night stay tonight at a Hampton Inn for $62 plus tax. Hope it is worth it.as the promotion ends Feb 28..and don't assume you can interpret all the Ts and Cs of a promotion....

samething for me doing a HI tonight at $62 to get my 15th night in which is also my 15th stay.
As for having used a free night , keep in mind that it still does count towards requalification for Status Levels. I was going to use a few of them last week at an OP Level HI, but the HI was sold out all week, the cheapest HI was just under $200.

I am convinced and booked the Hampton Inn Sterling for that $62 plus $6 tax stay. On the good side, we will have dinner out nearby, go to the pool and eat breakfast in the morning--all with no rush hour back tomorrow due to the holiday. It could be worse and I have definitely learned a lesson
On the other hand, they could make the Ts and Cs for promotions easier to understand...

Yes, all. Although I was registered for the stay 3/5/7 get 1/2/3 promotion the same T&Cs were in effect.
I was told (in an email), when I registered that award stays would count.
After I had completed my needed stays only one of my certs was sent. I emailed HH about the 2 missing certs and was told that award stays did not count. I forwarded the email I had received stating that they did count and they then were kind enough to let the award stays count. I had 3 or 4 award stays, going from memory.

That is the problem with too much information. I was pretty sure I read somewhere that award stays counted or I would not have done one. I think my original point was still valid--the Ts and Cs should not be ambiguous by pointing you to another confusing website for definitions. It should say clearly in the definition that award stays do or do not count--IMHO.
That aside, I really am glad I now qualify for all 3 free nights and now need to carefully plan how best to use them!!

I guess you dont read the Hilton Forum too much.
It started back in Dec and was talked about numerous times (alot) here.
I wasnt targeted but what happened was that Hilton sent out All kinds of Promos, some were for 2x or 3x on Pts earned, others were the 5/10/15 another was 3/5/7 styas needed instead of nights.
Some people were sent a few of them and were told to choose which they wanted (Only 1) others werent so lucky and Hilton told them which one they had no choice on the Members part. Others like me called the Diamond desk and were told the default for not getting anything was the 5/10/15. I would have preferred the 3/5/7 Stays as I usually have Only 1 night per stay. But with alot of travel in Jan/Feb I got the 15 covered. A few friends who got 2x or 3x on the Points were NOT able to switch to anything else.
since the last night that will count is 2/27 and its 2/23 today, if anyone hasnt Registered for the Free nights its Too late unless you can get them to give you the 3/5/7 Stay one which I havent heard anyone who wasnt Targeted for it , getting it at all. If they give you that and you stay in 3 different Hiltons during the next 4 nights you'll get 1 Fre night.

Anyone know if the nights are transferrable (i.e., Coupon Connection)? I picked the 5/10/15 option as I expected to get two nights. Alas, travel plans pushed my long stay until the second week in March and I'm only going to end up with 8 nights by Feb 28th. So I've got one lonely voucher and it's unlikely I'll be able to effectively use it before the 1 year mark. In hindsight, I should have selected the 2x that was offered as a second option.
So, anyone know if it might be effectively exchanged on CC? I'm not even sure what a decent exchange rate would be since it could be used for a class 6, but only for a single night.

Any thoughts? well even if you get stuck with a 100 dollar rate, 200 bucks for a 450 euro cat 6. go for it

I thought I was only doing 10 nites, but then I ended up with 13, so I quickly found a DT and Hilton close by, $60 for the DT and $70 for the Hilton, to end up with 15 and 3 free nites. Apparently, I just missed the HGI Times Sq for $99 on 2/27. So, $130 all in for a CAT6 free nite. And full points and miles, unlike Hampton stays.

Lucky for all of you, I only had 8 nights. Not worth spending another $150 for me to get another cert (or is it)?
How do you check how many nights you have on your account?
JT_BOS

It probably is a wash, unless you are using the cert to stay at some super expensive cat 6 hotel.
To check the nights, log into your account and look at stay history. Count the number of nights starting from Nov 1, excluding the free nights. There you have it!

Last go around, they emailed certs which you need to make award and give to the hotel. They expired 1 year after issuance as I recall.

My own experience with the expiration dates has been that all of the certs issued within a given promo period expire at the same time. e.g. The free nights certs I earned last fall under the 5/10/15 had different issue dates but expire 2/28/07. They've given us more than one year to use them in the past. Of course we won't know when the certs expire this time until the first excited FT'er posts that they have one in hand.
Should be happening any day now...

the 5/10/15 offer. Is it nights or stays? The free nights, any property?
I asked and was told by e mail even 5 consecutive nights in one property counts for 5 toward this promo etc. i.e. Hilton give you a free room anywhere worldwide voucher (good for a year) for even one 5 night stay.
Very good promo IMHO. ^

I see that two of the certificates have been "posted"...but no email of the actual certificates. You need the actual certificates in order to redeem. I called HHonors last week and they said they would request them to be "resent". I have not received anything.
I did receive 3 certificates (and used them) from the last 5/10/15 promo so am somewhat familiar with the procedure.

Yes, but the problem with this is that you can just see that a certificate was issued. You can not actually get to the certificate, which is what you have to have in order to get the free night.

I have the same problem that I can see a reward occurs on April 19 under "reward redeemption" but have not received the actual certificate.

Ok, so the free award nights are already showing up in my Hhonors activity list, but I assume at some point I'll be receiving an actual certificate in-hand.
I also know that Hilton has been known to, on occasion, give you award reservations in anticipation of those you have earned.
So, do you think I have a shot with the Gold desk of getting a combo points + 2 not-yet-in-hand award certificate reservation for later this year (after I would have received the certificates) since they're showing in my account? I don't want to risk losing the hotel availability.

If the certs are in your account, they can see them. This should allow them to book the room, and you will then have time to get the physical certs before you show up.

I just received two of the 5/10/15 free night certificates by regular mail. I should have the third the same way shortly. :)
This should answer our question as to why we can see them in our account but no email. The last promo (earlier this year) saw the certificates delivered by email and that was what I was expecting. Email seemed an easier and more efficient way for HH to deliver them.

I called HHonors about a week ago after 2 certificates showed up and I did not receive the email certificates I was expecting. They told me that for some reason the account was showing that they "had been surface mailed".
They were very surprised at that as well. I got them today which was about a week after I called and maybe 10 days after they showed in my account.

My theory regarding the use of Q3FN instead of C601 for these free night certs is that it will allow the HH system to distinguish between award stays that count towards status and those that don't. In the past the free night certs from the 5/10/15 promo have stated right on them that promo award stays don't count for stay credit. I'm assuming that the new ones will as well.

That’s my plan for spring of 2007. From the day I signed up for the 5/10/15 I knew that I’d end up using them at Hilton Key West. It’s always pretty pricey, especially compared to the many decent B&Bs near Duval Street. Plus I’ve never stayed there and it looks pretty good. My GF also is dying to spend a day on Sunset Key. I just got my first free night cert on the HH website and I’ve got 7 more nights booked by June 8th, so 3 free nights in EYW is a lock.

Thats what I thought till it came up for under $300 for some dates I checked in May and June. Also if I can book at a comparable hotel near by then the cost of that Hotel is what Ill use as my measuring stick.
using a cert in lieu of having to spend alot of $$$ for a Hotel is good Only if you really want to be in that local. Also if airfares are thru the roof to say MIA and 1/2 of that to say SEA, then maybe its better to use it for SEA even though a hotel there might top out at say $220.
So a hotel in Ski country can be say $400 a night but if you dont care for the Cold why go, just to say heck I saved $400 by using a free night cert.
I would gauge the best place to use it and my savings based on where would I like to go, but maybe the Hotels reg rates are out of my league for the max Id like to spend for a Hotel. ex Sedona ,Az nice Hilton there that isnt too cheap, but I know I can get some really cheap places in Flagstaff a 1/2 hr away, so I never stay in Sedona but always do in Flag, where the HGI, HIs are at least 1/2 the price of Sedonas. Now if my expiration date was fast approaching that would be a different story, but I wouldnt use it for a stay in Sedona, unless it was a case of use it or lose it. As for Key West, there are too many nice places that are way below the Hiltons rates that would have me blow the Certs on the Hilton.

Good points. For this trip the Hilton is the best major property in the area. Also for the time I expect to be there it is typically above $400 a night so its a good deal to use the certs. And most important of all, the GF and I REALLY want to stay there!

Yes I do. We'll be staying at the regular property, not Sunset. IIRC Hilton Key West allows their gests to use the beach at Sunset Key. They run a ferry. It was about $10 last time I checked. My GF is a beach fanatic (when I said she wanted to spend a day there I meant it :) ) and the one downside of EYW for her is that the beaches aren't great. The ones on Sunset Key look much better, so we'll give them a try as a part of our stay.

that's a good question. I was under the impression that the hotel needs a paper printout but in this case there is nothing to print.
Couple of days ago I was told by the Diamond desk that my cert was processed so I was patiently waiting for e-mail and in fact I planned on calling them tomorrow if I didn't get any e-mail by morning. But after I read your post I looked and found that I also have a cert in my account, so thanks for the heads up. :) ^

I got the certs by email on the first 5/10/15 earlier this year.
Very simple to use.
The procedure was to print out the certs and call and make reservations. They should ask you which certificate (number) you want to use.
Take that certificate with you when you check in.
This time the first two certificates came in the mail. I am still waiting for the third one. I assume that they are mailing them all this time for some reason.
Seems a waste of postage when email is free.

Just redeemed 2 certificates over the phone with the DD. They will fax the certificates to the hotel for us as it is for a stay this weekend. The CS agent just looked in our account and made the reservations. It took about 60 seconds.

:D Actually they did. I was credited with 5 of these nights on the first 5/10/15 promotion. :)
Another confirmation. Got the first cert for my stay in Tokyo last month and will (hopefully) get another one after my stay in Osaka next week.
Will be using the first one for an upcoming stay at the Park Lane Hilton in London (400+BPs) and the second one for the Dublin Conrad (250+Euro)
The Expedia/Hilton mistake deal is getting better and better.... :D
I won't have enough nights for #3 :( before July 31st.

I can tell you what a Diamond Desk rep told me during a 40 minute conversation. YMMV, as always. It appears to depend on how the promo is added to your account.
I had an e-mail from Cynthia saying that the promo had been added to my account in mid April. But for some reason the promo wasn't there when I called in May. The DD guy agreed to try to get me retroactive credit. He said that there were 2 different codes that had to work together and his initial attempts didn't work. So finally he took the time, bless his heart, to manually re-add all of the stays that should count. After he added the stay containing the 5th night the system indicated that I had earned a free night cert. Since then I have earned a 2nd cert (although I'm having trouble actually getting the certs in my hot little hands -- a different problem.)
So they can make it work retroactively if they really want to. Whether they will or not is something else. In my case I think the e-mail I had from mid-April helped.

How long does it take for the certificate to show up online? Is it available immidiately after they 5 nights completed?
I just completed my 6 nights on Saturday, June 3nd.
As of today, June 5th, that activity shows as my last stay.
But there is no certificate available for redemtion yet.
Also, when would the points from that stay post to my account?
The activity is listed but no points yet.

Yes, award stays DO count toward stay & night totals--only HHonors does this.
Also, I have heard conflicting stories on whether award nights count toward earning the 5/10/15. In the Winter 5/10/15 a supervisor did count my award stays in checking my earnings.

When a Diamond Desk rep signed me up for the current 5/10/15 promo he read the rules to me and made a point of stressing that award stays wouldn't count. Of course whether they really do count or not will depend on what the HH programmers do and what the CSRs do when making any manual adjustments.
I think it's great that HH counts my regular award stays towards elite status and i don't mind making sure that I have enough paid nights during the promo period to get my 3 free nights. If others get lucky and get credit towards the 5/10/15 promo for their award stays then good for them.

After several calls last week about why I still had not received two of my 5/10/15 certificates by mail, and attempts to get the certificates e-mailed, I was told that it was "impossible" for these certificates to be e-mailed. They can fax them, but the standard is snail mail. I had an award stay coming up very quickly and they were finally able to fax the certificates directly to the hotel. When I got there the next afternoon, the certificates were there waiting for me to check in. But I have no clue why in the previous 5/10/15 promotion they were able to e-mail the certificates but now they're relying on mail.

For those that are having problems seeing their Free Night Certs, you might try this...
I wanted to confirm how many as well as the cert #s for the Free Night Certs I had, so I emailed the DD and asked them to provide the Cert # and the exp date of each of my Free Night Certs (FNCs). They sent that information back to me.
What I wasn't expecting, was today, when I went into my account I checked the Redemption History tab and both of the cert information that had been sent to me were now at the top of the Redemption History listing. They previously had not been showing up. I am not sure if the Rep who replied to my question touched (updated) my account and that caused them to show up or if it was just a coincidence.
Just passing on the information.

Yes. All you need to make the reservation are the certificate numbers, which can be found under the redemption activity tab online on your HHonors account. I did this for two nights a few weeks ago.
Also be advised that if you have not received the certificates in the mail (they are being very slow about mailing them out) by the time of your stay, you can have them faxed from the HHonors Service Center to the hotel. They cannot e-mail the certificates on this promotion this time. Not all of the phone agents know this.

I called the Diamond desk last night about 900pm and they faxed all three to me about 800 am this morning.
One thing I did notice is that the expiration date on all three was June 29th 2007(one year from today) so I suggest unless you actually needed them now you might be able to expand the validity date by waiting ( if they were not already mailed)

Edited to add the DD told me they will either fax them to you or to a specific property but would NOT send them by e-mail ... bit strange.
I received 2 by regular mail...took about 6 weeks to arrive.
The 3rd certificate has not been received. Diamond Desk says that it was sent about a month ago and that it looks like it was "returned"...but he could not be sure exactly what the code he was looking at meant.
He talked to his supervisor and they advised they would email it to me. Of course, nothing has been received.
The last 5/10/15 promo saw all of the certs emailed with little or no glitches.
Seems strange that they now choose to spend postage sending them out with delivery problems.
