People, it's time for some fun. List the names of planes you have flown on with jetBlue (both E190 and A320). I have not flown on the E190 yet, but about a year ago I started a running list of planes that I have flown on. Unfortunately, there are probably about 20 or so jetBlue flights that I have flown on from 2002-2004 that I never got the names of those planes.
I'll start (since I started keeping track):
Bada Bing, Bada Blue
Blue Traveler
I <3 Blue
Wild Blue Yonder
Betty Blue
Bippity Boppity Blue
Idlewild Blue
Blue Chip (2 times)
Blue Sapphire
Estrella Azul (2 times)
If The Blue Fits
Absolute Blue
Blue Jay
Blue Fox
Company Blue
Blue Jean Baby
Bahama Blue
Only Blue
***I hope I'm not the only one out there who loves the plane names they have! I will be flying FLL-JFK tonight and will post the name of that plane and my return flight Sun.
Let's get this thing going...please post the names of jetBlue planes you have flown on!!

Finally, this game is getting started! Yes, Canyon Blue (N536JB) is the aircraft that experiened the largely publicized sucessful emergeny landing at LAX in Sept. 2005. I think I flew on that aircraft some years ago, but if I did I am would not remember because I was not keeping track of which planes I was on back then.
Today, I flew on Blue Kid In Town from JFK-FLL. Great flight as usual.

I also once flew on Canyon Blue. Did Jet Blue end up retiring that 'name' after the emergency?
A few names of planes I've been on that I remember:
Devil With A Blue Dress
Canyon Blue
Song Sung Blue
Ba Da Bing Ba Da Blue (edited and added to the list - a favorite plane name!)
Blue Suede Shoes
Blue Velvet
Blueberry

Nope, jetBlue still has Canyon Blue's name in service - the tail design is boxes. I saw it a few months ago at JFK and there are still recent photos of it on jetphotos.net and airliners.net.
I've seen Song Sung Blue on the ground at Seattle and JFK several times. I think I might have flown on Blueberry...sadly, I'll never know and can't say it officially.
Keep the plane names coming! It's just for fun...nothing more.

Hi everyone,
I've been reading the board for a while, but am new to posting. This seemed like a good topic to get started with. I'm a big JetBlue fan and have been tracking the planes I've been on for about two years. I got started with a list that was in JetBlue's 2003 Online Annual Report (http://64.106.229.11/jetblue2003/planenames.pdf).
In the past few months, I've been on:

Cool list from the 03 annual report. Someone on jetphotos has a running, updated webpage of the E190 and A320 fleets. Here are the links (I don't think it is official, but it is very very very accurate!):

I don't think there is. I thought of tons of names that are not in use and sadly I can't recommend them.
You need to work for jetBlue (I think inflight) to be eligible to participate in submitting the plane names. If you win and it is selected for the A320, you win a trip to France...if it is selected for the E190, you win a trip to Brazil. Maybe some jetBlue crewmembers on here can provide further info.
Question: Since jetBlue is selling at least 2, and possibly up to 5 A320's, does anyone know if the names on those older planes will be retired or repainted on a newer one to be delivered???

Christine is the nickname for the first 320 we took delivery of. The plane is "haunted" and stories to her "quirks" spread through the company like wildfire. Many times she seems to have a mind of her own and do whatever she wants to. I've flown on her once and didn't have any issues on her so maybe I was lucky or she just decided to behave.

You have to hand it to B6. Who else would name their plane "Christine?"
It's not for the faint of heart or those who might have a fear of flying :)

Blue Man Group The name JetBlue could give its elite TrueBlue flyers (200 pts or more per year)

Canyon Blue entered the fleet back in May 2002, so I doubt it.
Song Sung Blue was the first A320 to wear the "bubbles/super-dots" tail design and it debuted in Jan. 2003 as a funny response to the launch of Delta's Song. There is a picture in Blue Streak with David Neeleman holding a bottle of spraying Coca Cola (From Delta's hometown, Atlanta) in front of that aircraft.

Yesterday I was on the Blue Clipper from PIT to JFK. Anyone know where I can find an updated list of E190 names?
The lists that I know of (postetd earlier in this thread) are the best, however, I think the E190 list is missing quite a few planes. I don't know of any others...jetBlue might be able to send you an official list with the names/tail numbers. I do know that crewmembers at the airport have the capability of printing them out on the boarding pass type paper from their systems.
How was the load on your PIT-JFK flight? I hear that market is developing nicely.

There is a very helpful website that actually lists tail numbers from flights you have taken however it posts a few weeks after I think. I'll find the link and post it later tonight. Usually if you ask the crew, they are happy to find out the name for you.

If you don't catch the name when you fly the flight...try to look at the tail design (there are 7 total) AND more importantly the tail number (usually N _ _ _ JB)...for example, N536JB is Canyon Blue an A320 and N615JB is I <3 Blue an A320. I believe The E190's are lower numbers, like N183JB and N190JB.
Also, if you can't see the tail number...try and look at the front landing gear. Right on the blue flap to the sides of the wheels, there is the tail number as well - just excluding the letetrs (N and JB)...it would say, for example, 544. And that plane name is Blue Jean Baby.
Finally...if you don't get any of this info, when you enter the plane through the front boarding door, there is an FAA certificate right above that exit door, directly infront on 1ABC, adjacant to the front galley and in front of the forward bathroom. This is on the A320 - don't know anything about the E190, sorry. On that FAA certificate is the tail number in small bold type.
Sometimes the crew knows the name or they can look it up for you.
And, the last and most helpful resource is this website someone on a.net posted for me a few weeks ago. Wait a few weeks/months after the flight, and then go to the site and enter the airline, departure city, arrival city and date. All the flights that airline flew on the route will appear. Look for you flight number and the aircraft tail number will be right beside it!! Here's the link (I think I click on airborne time...it's the only place I find the tail numbers.)
Once you have the tail number, just look it up on the webpage on angelfire (which is somewhat up to date)...the link was posted earlier in this thread.

I see that Jersey has, but has anybody else flown on N635JB "All Because Of Blue"? The plane was delivered in April '06 and I already hate that plane! I flew it today on the MCO-JFK run and what a P.O.S she already is, maybe not for a customer standpoint, but to work it was a pain! We walked onboard this morning to 5 MEL items! 5!! One of the items could be concidered serious (can't give the specifics to that specific MEL), not an issue of flight but serious none-the-less. On departure from MCO and JFK there was a really funky sound (sounded like crumpling paper) coming from the 1R door, the TVs wouldn't reset to original brightness after being put into standby, the aft galley floor was already peeling, and several other issues.
Not to mention I believe that she was in MCO yesterday when I arrived with her #2 engine in pieces and being replaced
What are the doing over there in France? I've had model airplnes from minicraft built better than that aircraft!!

We actually had to put a company crewmember into a jumpseat because of a computer operator malfunction (passenger checked in online and then unchecked herself so her seat was given to a non-rev)

Glad you enjoyoed your first jetBlue experience!
Someone at B6 may be able to tell you the name of the plane faster, but if you are patient here is a VERY good, helpful link. It goes as far back as 10 years, however the info for specific flights loads about 3 months after that flight. So, the extreme wait is the downside but if you plug in the date, origin, destination and airline, a full list of flights on that date with that airline on that route will come up. I click on "airborne time" to find this info. The tail number for the plane that operated your flight will be there...to find the name, just plug the tail number into the jetphotos.net or a.net database or look it up on the fleet lists poosted on reply # 13 of this thread.

It is suppose to be done at every city now as part of our revised inflight experience guide. 90% of the announcements are now made on the ground to provide a better IFE experience. The inflight announcements (from the cabin crew) are very brief and to the point. The long 10,000ft announcement is gone as well as the initial descent announcement. The pilots on the other hand, still drag out their announcements. I figured they would be very quick with theirs as they have to be a speed talker to get a word in the NYC Center and approach, go figure.
As part of the new announcements the ground crews where suppose to come onboard and thank you for flying and what not and also state the name of the aircraft. If they don't I ususally try and find out the name and say it during out intro PA.

Cool! Thanks for the info. DEN did seem to be following a new script, since the announcements for the JFK flight were almost identical to the ones for the BOS flight that boarded while I was there. (It was kind of interesting to listen to a Frontier flight board one gate away. They announced 24 channels of DirecTV for $5 and movies for $8. A few minutes later, the JetBlue announcement talked about 36 channels of DirecTV for free.)
I like the concept behind the changes - customers don't like their TV time being interrupted. I'll be listening more carefuly to the announcements on my next few flights. Change is good!

The JFK-ORD flight would have been full on an E190, but it was upgraded to an A320 that had plenty of open seats. The return was on an E190 that I estimated about 80% full - pretty good for a Saturday afternoon, especially on the first weekend of service.

I believe Bravo Lima Uniform Echo is on an A320 and is very new (not sure the exact date it entered service), but definitely within the past few months.
It's a very creative name - however every crewmember I speak to says the same thing about that name...for us aviation enthusiasts, it is great, but for the other 99% of people who fly, they just don't/won't get it!
I think jetBlue should post a sign in the front of each cabin stating the name of that particular aircraft...just an idea, and it would help us identify the names that much easier!

Yeah, I picked up on it right away where bravo lima unifom echo came from. I actually knew it from when I was a fire department dispatcher.
For those who don't know, the names are uniformed names to accompany the first letter of the spoken word in an effort to spell some thing out over the radio. In this case, Bravo Lima Iniform Echo spells out BLUE (by taking the first letter of each word). This is done to avoid mistaking one letter for another. For instance, the letters B and V or M and N are pronounced very simulary. So you will hear over the radio for an airline or police department the words Bravo and Victor for the letters B and V or Mary and Nancy for M and N. On occasion people will substitute different words for the same letter. In the town I usued to work the radios for, a few of the guys would substitute the word boy for B instead of Bravo. Nevertheless, the word still goes with the first letter. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Army was responsible for the developement for this; later it was adopted by the airlines, police and fire.

I picked up on it too and actually tried to post a new thread about it sitting there across from me covered in about three inches of snow in the early morning but the local WiFi provider required me to sign up for their service as I hit submit and the thread was lost.
But regardless it was a brand new plane!!! I always take a peak at the little black label on the inner part of the door with the serial number and this one had 2006 on it. It had both XM Radio and Satelite TV and brand new controls for the volume, XM, channels, etc. It was really cool.
It also had that brand new feel to it, was very smooth on landing and overall I was really impressed.

Hi everyone. :D I'm new here, and just wanted to add my jetBlue names. I flew (for the first time ever, on any airline) recently from Boston to Long Beach, CA. I really like jetBlue, and I'm glad I flew with them. They had been recommended to me for a long time from people who have done a lot more flying than I. It was a lot of fun. :D

I was on Flight 1051 on 4/22.
BTW Great ride on the E190, very comfortable. I'm 6' 2" and had no head/legroom issues, tho the ceiling clearance is noticeably lower in the aisle than on larger aircraft. They did have to power down (reboot? :) ) before we could leave the gate--only took about 5 mins but glad it was a morning flight.

Thankfully we are seeing less and less power down and reboots after the update Embraer made. The aircraft that took you to PIT was Blue Amigo tail 229. Glad to hear you had a wonderful ride! It truely is a great plane to work and ride on.

Holy moly, that's quite the list... I was on Song Sung Blue 8/11 flight 42.
Bird's an oldie but a goodie... got the upgraded screens but no XM... oh well :)
On a side note, on the plane that I was coming down on which did have XM, the navigation of that thing is rather silly. It goes from smaller number to bigger number from top down, but the buttons on the seat works by pushing up and down. So when you push up the screen scrolls down... on a 6AM flight that made my head hurt.

Hit the "Speak Up" on their website (http://www.jetblue.com). They would definately look into it. Besides, they have been known in the past to issue credit vouchers for these types of problems.

The plane and crew were outstanding. I had row 2 all to myself, TV and XM worked fine, the FA up front Amy or Megan (I'm terrible with names) was smiling a lot which was nice, perfect flight aboard Blissfully Blue E190

Lucky you... I flew EWR-FLL yesterday 10/01 and returned FLL-EWR this evening 10/02 on "All we need is Blue" I was all excited to see the registration # in the six hundreds thinking it'll have bigger screens, DirecTV and XM... but it had none of that! And for some reason VH1 channel did not work on that plane, not in 9A heading down nor 4A coming back.

Common misconception. All or most of the tail numbers in the 500's have gone in for the update and refit. From about tail 640 on up you should have the update and refit as well. We started to make the switch when we hit the 600 tail numbers so they got caught in limbo as they where brand new but there was no need to remove a brand new bird from service to retrofit them with the new interiors.

I've had that problem onboard on a particular aircraft. The movies froze halfway though and then restarted. I don't remember which aircraft it was though. The new policy is if you have onboard TV difficulties (DirecTv not working or what not) and you go to the speak up section the company will send you a travel voucher.
Also, I've been getting this more and more and have been telling people that are onboard my longer flights (flights with movies) to make sure they get the screen that says "Press channel up button to accept charge" after you swipe your CC card. If you don't get that screen your card hasn't been charged and you won't be able to watch the movie beyond the initial 30 minutes. After that 30 minute preview the systems locks out the movies and there is nothing I can do to bring them back. Since I fly the 190 a majority of the time I usually don't run into these problems but just an FYI for all of your Bluers out there.

Flew on Absolute Blew, JFK-PBI yesterday. 10am departure, pushed back at 10:05am...perfectly fine. Taxi out a few feet and stop. Right away, I knew it was ATC, and the rainy weather was not helping either. Looking out the left window, I still saw jetBlue's T5/6. I was watching TV for about 15-20 minutes while we were stopped, when I heard a flight attendant call button ding. Then, again and again...about 5 quick dings in a row. By the third I thought it was a kid playing around. A second later, a series of about 20 dings really fast, when halfway through I rip my headphones off (because it was very loud!) and looked up to see the FA running through the aisle. 2 rows behind me, in row 13 was an older man who passed out. Everyone was turning around and looking with such scared faces. His wife, as expected, was freaking out. One FA went to the back to get a medical emergency kit and made an announcement asking if a Dr. is on board. A gentleman a few rows up stood up and proceeded to walk over. At this point, I learned something I would not have thought of myself - always ask for ID first, to make sure it's really a Dr. and not some nut! The Dr. could not find a pulse. Thankfully, after about 5 minutes the older man slowly woke up. By this time, the captain was notified and we had just begun to taxi back to the gate. The wife said, "No! Let's go to Florida, he will be ok!" Of course, the FA said "Not happening!" He was able to walk off, slowly, and we saw an ambulence pull next to the aircraft a few minutes later.
I've experienced a medical emergency on board (in flight) once before this, and no diversion was needed, about 70 miles from JFK. This was a scary experience, with everyone fearing the worst. Thankfully, he was ok to walk off, but I don't know his status past that. The crew did a great job in being professional and keeping others calm. Although, after some refueling and a 40-minute gate delay, we pushed back to find ourselves with 21 airplanes in front for departure. That's when the whole plane started getting up to use the lavs and of course the FA could not keep the pax seated, and we had to park for a few additional minutes because of those idiots!
2.5 hour flight to PBI, spent 5 total hours on Absolute Blue...Other than that, great, smooth flight.

Didn't have a chance/unable to see the plane names for all four of my flights this past weekend, but here's what they were:
2/14 - ROC-JFK Flight 137 - Seat 11A (no one in 11B) - on time
2/14 - JFK-BOS Flight 640 - Seat 11A (no one in 11B - fairly empty flight) - on time
2/18 - BOS-JFK Flight 1009 - Seat 11A (Full) - holding pattern over JFK for about an hour due to weather (fog)
2/18 - JFK-ROC Flight 20 - Seat 11A (no one in 11B) - :30 delayed due to late arrival

JFK was reporting zero visibility and overcast skies at 100ft with 1/4 mile vis on the ground this morning. I'm really glad that I wasn't working. Our tracking program isn't working for me right now but when it comes up i'll try to get you the aircraft names.

Had the pleasure of meeting Blue Monday (N571JB) for the first time this morning on Flight 109. Delayed on the ground in Buffalo due to deicing and a very slow taxi, but we made the time up in the air and hit the ground in JFK at 9:03. After a super long taxi there too (had to hold for a pair of 744s and a 738) we were parked at 9:18, and Blue Monday turned for the snowy skies of Buffalo once more.

Not so good with the 320s.. there's too many of them for me to remember. ;-) Here are some tail numbers, if it helps you.
N509JB - True Blue
N568JB - Blue Saphire
N506JB - Wild Blue Yonder
N564JB - Absolute Blue

Beantown Blue is an old piece of crap. Flew it from Seattle - JFK and didn't even have Sirius. What a bummer.
