Qantas Frequent Flyer - Upgrade credits and domestic sectors of an international flight

Can upgrade credits be used to upgrade a domestic sector on an international flight? I'm flying MEL/SYD rtn in two weeks and was wondering if I can fly on an international flight and upgrade to the new business class bed seats.
