JetBlue TrueBlue - Jetblue where can be fly next new destination cityView Full Version : Jetblue where can be fly next new destination city N830MH Apr 26, 06, 12:27 am http://www.jetblue.com/email/citysuggest.asp?intcmp=where_we_fly1 Enjoy! jetBlueNYFL Apr 26, 06, 12:59 am Saw that not long ago - pretty cool. Hopefully we'll see the addition of some new midwest cities. My guesses for upcoming cities: SAV, MSP, RNO, maybe even YYZ Who knows...these just seem like possible cities. In the Q1-06 conf. call, Mr. Neeleman stated that jetBlue management DOES know exactly how many more cities will be added this year and he did admit that it will be more than originally expected back in Jan for the 2006 outlook. Also, remember that jetBlue applied for nonstop JFK-CUN service back in Dec. but they are still waiting to hear from the DOT about that - I wonder if it has to do with Spirit. Anyone have info on that?? Buster CT1K Apr 26, 06, 3:33 pm Can a moderator please change the awful grammar in the title of this post? Very jarring. I think YVR would be great. sbm12 Apr 26, 06, 5:03 pm I think YVR would be great. Just what you need...another transcon that the 320 has trouble with. Does B6 have more A320s coming online or just the E190s? S jetBlueNYFL Apr 26, 06, 5:45 pm Just what you need...another transcon that the 320 has trouble with. Does B6 have more A320s coming online or just the E190s? S The A320 only has trouble with transcons in extremely strong, not normal headwinds. This past Feb. (and last year) is the first time that jet streams have been as strong as they are at record levels. While the tech stops are not great, it is not often they happen - only 1 month out of the year...US and HP had the same problem with their transcons using the A320. JetBlue has orders for the A320 through 2011 with options beyond - but as announced yesterday, they will be deferring some A320s (I think 7 of them) between 2007 and 2009 for delivery around 2012. The E190 orders are staying as is, so therefore jetBlue will actually be taking more E190's online than A320's at a certain point for a little while. In the mean time, they will be selling a definite 2 (possibly up to 5) current A320's in service. This will help increase overall efficiency, as they are the older ones (still not that old, delivered in 1999 and 2000)...the fleet age will stay young. The somewhat older ones burn more fuel and require more MX. 777Brian Apr 26, 06, 5:51 pm I do not think we will see many more, if any, new destinations this year beyond the CLT announcment. Not sure if you have been following any JetBlue news lately or not but things have started to get tough. Of the last 20 markets that B6 has entered according to Neeleman only 3 have been profitable. Before the recent increase in fuel prices B6 was predicting a loss for the full year. High fuel prices have only made profitability harder to reach. Many people who work for B6 get compensation in stock, a depressed value will negatively imact them and investors. There are lots of reasons for B6 to get the stock price up and to return to profitability addint new destinations won't help that -they need to get their existing house in order. According to Reuters B6 is planning to deffer the deliveries of 12 A320s this year and is considering selling up 5 of its existing A320 aircraft. An announcment like that leads me to believe we won't see much expansion even with the new regional jets. If anything I would suspect to see B6 use some capacity to help reduce their poor on time performance rather launch new cities. Those delays cost a lot of money and B6 is a lean operation there isn't as much to cut like over at Delta or UA. SkaterJasp Apr 26, 06, 8:51 pm What bout get alittle more creative with them slots at LGB... LGB to SEA and/or PDX via OAK, SJC, and/or SMF jetBlueNYFL Apr 26, 06, 11:16 pm I do not think we will see many more, if any, new destinations this year beyond the CLT announcment. However, in the conf. call the other morning, Mr. Neeleman stated that jetBlue will inded be announcing new cities this year (probably towards end of summer) and that the # of cities added in 2006 will be MORE than originally predicted. jetBlue management knows which cities will be added, but it was undisclosed for competitive purposes. Anyway, it will be interesting to see which cities will be announced later this year. And the 12 A320 deliveries will be deferred between 2007 and 2009 - postponed for delivery by 2012. They are selling a definite 2 currently in service and possibly up to 5 (over the 1999-2000 ones which are oldest but still young in the fleet).....the E190 delivery program remains as scheduled. jetBlueNYFL Apr 26, 06, 11:18 pm What bout get alittle more creative with them slots at LGB... LGB to SEA and/or PDX via OAK, SJC, and/or SMF LGB-SEA would be awesome and a potential money maker. But, from what I hear the slot space at LGB is very restricted. I heard a rumor about basing a few E190's out of LGB...I'm not sure because the E190's are really going to be focused on the East Coast. SkaterJasp Apr 27, 06, 10:34 am LGB-SEA would be awesome and a potential money maker. But, from what I hear the slot space at LGB is very restricted. I heard a rumor about basing a few E190's out of LGB...I'm not sure because the E190's are really going to be focused on the East Coast. I know it would be awesome, thats why I said via OAK / SMF / SJC... SMF would make the best sense becuase less chance of delays and SMF to SEA / PDX flights are almost always sold out on and a bit overpriced. Basically extended the current flights to OAK / SMF / SJC up to SEA / PDX. Same number of slots use, just more options for LGB travelers wanting to fly jetBlule. Basically time to connect the dots on the route map! 1 stop service is alot better than no service! :D |
