However, we are working on an innovative program that will reward our loyal passengers. Stay tuned to our website for upcoming announcements." cesco.g Dec 18, 01, 2:45 pm Did she have anything to report about onboard service (food, drinks)? (That said, I do love the airline. I think they may be picking up quite some loyal flyers, even without an FF program.) Jx Dec 19, 01, 11:00 am It was a 2 hr flight from IAD to FLL. She did mention about snacks. Unlike the pretzels we usually find in coach, they offered choices of cookies and stuff. You could pick from a list. Also she mentioned that our one year old was standing and playing between her and the seat in front which suggests more legspace. Paulo Dec 19, 01, 12:17 pm By my estimate, seat pitch is 32" to 33". Snacks are the same on all flights, as no meals are offered. The FA comes around with a basket, generally bagel chips, cookies, some kinda snack mix, and my personal favourite, blue potato chips. A horrifying thought crossed my mind, though. On 11 September, were passengers in their seats watching the live coverage of crashing planes? Very scary! richard Dec 19, 01, 12:26 pm If they do have a FF, they should look at WN's model. They need simplicty and should avoid the concept of status This may be anathema to FTers like me but good business for them. Status complicates relationships between customers and the airline and builds resentments. WN's program does not have this. They do reward very frequent customes with companion cards but this "top tier" does not create elites in the traditional sense. I think JetBlue would do well to look at this model. Doppy Dec 19, 01, 4:07 pm Everyone says their service is great. They also do 100% PPBM and bag screening, without any delays or problems. Meanwhile, all the other US airlines are crying their eyes out, saying that it's impossible to do... d dave_261 Dec 19, 01, 6:55 pm [QUOTE]Originally posted by richard: [B]If they do have a FF, they should look at WN's model. They need simplicty and should avoid the concept of status I heard their CEO talk about 8 months ago, and this is exactly what he mentioned at the time. Something simple, based on flight segments, not flight miles, and just earning free flights (nothing for upgrades, alliances, etc., and nothing with affinity partners) Don't know if it's changed in the last few months though. das Dec 19, 01, 8:41 pm Personally I think JetBlue is a great, reliable airline, with great smiling employees, but the onboard service is lousy. I flew JFK-SEA. There was one beverage/snack service and then water before landing. Two beverage services on a 6 hour flight is not enough. Also their seat pitch is tight, and I don't normally notice seat pitch. I like their transcon schedules (those late westbound flights are fantastic) and prices, but it's not the most comfortable... MRLIMO Dec 19, 01, 9:05 pm My niece flew JetBlue earlier this month ONT-JFK roundtrip and was very pleased overall. She was most impressed with the fare and their new fleet of A320s. ------------------ When all Frequent Flyer programs become equal, they will cease to exist! Be careful what you ask for! LarryU Dec 20, 01, 3:52 pm JetBlue has evidently become quite a hit with NYC area limo drivers as well. My driver and I were chatting quite a bit about JetBlue yesterday as we drove past terminal 6 on the way to my final UA flight of the year. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif He mentioned that after JetBlue expanded their operations in terminal 6, they positioned a flight status screen outside so that drivers could easily discern the ETA of their prospective pickups. It certainly seems to be an airline in which there are at least some decision makers who are seriously contemplating how to make the travel experience easier for all involved. biometrist Dec 21, 01, 11:09 am I had to get back to JFK from FLL on an emergency last sunday night. The very last flight out of FLL was on Jet Blue (so I couldn't use my existing DL reservation). The walk-up fare was about $200 (which is great, in my opinion!). I got checked in, through security and onto the plane in the span of 20 minutes. The seats were comfortable (better than DL coach!), and the direct TV was a real plus. I watched some MSNBC, CNN, ESPN, TLC....I was very entertained. The flight attendants were very friendly, and though they only did one drink 'service', they brought me refills a couple of times. All I had to do was ask. I'd definitely fly Jet Blue again given the chance, though I don't know when that will be, given that they don't fly to my home of CHS. Now that's an idea I can live with. Now if only venues and their architects, designers, traffic flow experts and decision makers would do the same and keep us in mind. ------------------ When all Frequent Flyer programs become equal, they will cease to exist!
