And granted, that is a generous estimate. So tonight, instead of that Christmas party at the White House, you and I are going to discuss in great detail Electromagnetic Theory and Ice Hockey rules and regulations.

(The security lines at SDF this morning were insane, snaking 3x around the terminal.)

More Fast Times at FAA High quotes:

"You're causing a major disturbance on MY time."

"What are you people, on dope?"

Pax: "Why do you shamelessly waste my time like this?" FAA: "I don't know."

Does Mr. Minetta read FT?

The real issue is what role government can play in airport security. My answer is that they can set standards. But the execution must (or should) remain in the private sector.

I know the domestic US airlines are whining now and want the government to prop them up. But that is the government's fault, there never should have been a bail-out. Big business sniffs government handouts and they line up at the trough (like everyone else.)

This January will be even more of a mess with the mandate from Congress but I think it is up to the airlines to figure things out and I think they will, for their own survival.

I think I have deciphered Mr. Mineta's email address. As well as an address on the FAA website for and I quote here: "To communicate comments, suggestions, and concerns related to the events of Sept. 11."

The email address for that is: 9-AWA-TELLFAA@faa.gov

From what I can decipher this is Norman Minetta's emaill address: Norman.Mineta@ost.dot.gov

Lee Privett- Director of The Office of Security and Adminstrative Management of The DOT-- lee.privett@ost.dot.gov

Now I think we can voice our concerns to people, hopefully they will see how pathetic the situation is around the country.
