oneworld - New OW Members

I just looking at bestflights.com.au for a RTW ticket and their OW tickets say that you can include on your RTW ticket, JAL and Malev??? I thought the 3 of them werent joining OW until the end of this year?????

The can be included in Global Explorer RTW products (mileage-based) but not Oneworld Explorer (continent-based.) Use of certain non-OW members has been allowed on GlobExs for some time; MA and JL were added recently.

JAL & Malev joined on 01 April '06 - Best Flights are obviously very quick at up-dating.

I use them quite a bit and find them very knowledgable on RTW's, I've tried quite a few other agencies but have never really got very far with them.

I was trying to get to Malabo - so no wonder the other agents got stuck - Best Flights sorted me though.

If you have not already read in the AA forum, but seems there is a rumour going around that Ethiopian are going to join OW:

Not sure about the validity of the rumour, however it would be a nice addition. Recent huge fare increases levied on DONEx and AONEx fares from certain cheap gateway cities means that many of us need new cheap gateway cities to start our RTW journeys. Hopefully Ethiopian may help some of us to find some new cheap gateways.

No, they are not memners yet, still working their way through the process. JAL hope to be complete before the end of 2006 and Malev expect full member status early on 2007. Info is on the OneWorld (http://www.oneworld.com/home.cfm) home page.

They have been added to the Global Explorer fare, but not yet valid carriers on OneWorld Explorer.
