Mileage Run Deals - Is this a good value

Living in europe it is very difficult for me to to do a MR. I first have to fly to either LHR or FRA at a substantial cost (depending on the time of the year). So I have been combining trips home with semi millage runs. Last month I flew FRA-ORD-EZE-ORD-EWR-ORD-FRA. I got a B Class ticket (which netted bonus miles for a total of 30K) for about $ 1500. I will be going to the US again in September and have found another B Class Fare through GIG for the same price.
My thinking is $1500, For 30,000 EQMs is a pretty good deal. It's probably the only way I will make 1K for next year. My question; am I right with this approach? Am I overlooking another? Thanks

$1500 for 30,000 EQM is $0.05/EQM, which I think most would say was a little high, but since this includes a trip which you were going to make anyway, I think you should subtract that out and evaluate what is left, which would be the Mileage Run. What would FRA-ORD-FRA have cost?

$836 for a V Class ticket and less than 9,000 eqms.

I noticed you have SWISS in your profile. As they are now part of *A, you can credit your flights from there to United instead. I would recommend that this post be moved to the UA forum where you will get a much better answer for effective means of earning United EQMs.

I think this is relevant to the Mileage Run forum, since your question has to do with the MR value of your flights.
My two cents: Yes, I think it's a decent deal, particularly since you are going home anyway.
$836 for a V Class ticket and less than 9,000 eqms.
So that leaves you $664 for 21,000 EQM for your Mileage Run. That's excellent.

that seems a little high to me. are you sure you can't get a better deal (especially ex-germany). Pm if you need some help there...
