Both myself and my father both have Amex Plat charge cards, but on separate accounts. We've had an issue where by my father went through their security questions, but onto my account, and changed things like direct debit details, and made a £2K charge through the travel service. Everything has now been resolved / charged back, however I want to speak to someone in their security department or even a manager so they can explain why it happened, and also how they're going to stop it in the future. However I'm not getting very far. I wonder if any of you resourceful FT'ers can put me in touch with someone at Amex UK?

That is very strange. Usually you give your card no. first and then they ask the questions based on that account? Are the address details the same for both your accounts?
Something similar happened to me whereby one of my supps was able to determine the full balance of the account. The CSR gave this to him instead of the balance for his card no. Didn't really cause too many problems, but a security issue nonetheless.

Yeah, we share the same address and postcode, home phone number and method of paying our bills. He called the PTS, and gave his PNR, the agent brought up all the details, asked a couple of security questions, which were the same for both of us.
This kind of thing shouldn't happen. I know with my own bank, smile.co.uk where you have secret questions and answers and you only give certain letters, works a lot better, than the standard questions that Amex ask, which 9/10 are the same.
The thing is, I have no confidence that this won't happen again, which is why I'd like to speak to someone in their security team, or at the very least a manager to get this cleared up. Pretty poor overall.
