Who is to say that the window of a SQ or CX or BA plane cannot shatter or have issues with their cabin. They all also fly Boeings or Airbuses. Do you have a personal vendata against AI or something since I have observed that you do nothing but report such things. While I am not a fan of AI, I do not think that mechanical issues happen only with AI. I was on a LH flight once where their mechanical issue lasted over 24hrs. Sure it was unpleasant at the time, but you get over it since all machinery is prone to break-down just like my car. bloretamilan Apr 16, 06, 3:28 pm Every airline is prone to mechanical issues. Do you have a personal vendata against AI or something since I have observed that you do nothing but report such things. No question that every airline is prone to mechanical issues. But why is that I am seeing these reports on a regular basis (I mean REGULAR) on AI and not on LH or SQ or CX. What other major airlines did have problems with IATA safety certificate? I don't have a "personal vendatta" against AI. I just want it to live up to the hype that others are creating that it competes with the best in the world. It is true that I spend my time in pointing out these issues about AI as they are being reported, but the fact of the matter is that there are these issues being reported. These are not cooked up stories meant to tarnish AI, but real incidents. If someone else has the time and motivation to report such incidents on other airlines, they are welcome to, but I don't understand why people take it personal when blatant issues about AI are reported here. I don't have an affiliation with any airline, but I can't accept AI as a reliable airline. Every individual's perception would be different and they are welcome to report the +ves of AI. But I don't think I can be blamed for REPORTING such incidents. - BT OZ is #1 Apr 16, 06, 4:47 pm This makes me wonder if, for example, I had a ticket on AI from the US to FRA or LHR and had to cancel for health or other reasons...normally with US or other Asian carriers, there is some flexibility depending on the situation. From what I'm reading, I'm not sure if that type of flexibility exists with AI... Anyone? MSP2000 Apr 16, 06, 9:56 pm BT: Based on you experience with AI, you should have a personal vendatta against AI. I know I would, if I was in your shoes. satish_ny Apr 17, 06, 8:21 pm This makes me wonder if, for example, I had a ticket on AI from the US to FRA or LHR and had to cancel for health or other reasons...normally with US or other Asian carriers, there is some flexibility depending on the situation. By flexibility, If you mean allowing cancellation and refund on a non-refundable ticket, AFAIK, most airlines including Air India waive cancellation fees for serious illness or death of a passenger or family member. If you really want flexibility, I think you should buy a flexible fare. |
