I hope it's not too OT for this forum....but I know I can either get an answer or pointed in the right direction ;)

I have a Canon PowerShot S45 that I thought was incapable of taking RAW format photos....but that seems to be what I have  I know my new Canon 20D can be set to RAW format and I have programs to view/edit those photos, but I don't know how I ended up with RAW photos from the PowerShot.

Yesterday, I took a dozen photos about HALF came out in .CRW! I have had this camera for 2-3 years and this has never happened. I am clueless....esp. since some are fine and I don't recall changing anything (sigh).

Problem: None of my programs will open a .CRW digital photo :(

I have been to canon.com, I have googled, and I have tried all my programs -- including one my husband read would open these files. None have worked :td:

I have tried: Canon EOS Digital Solution Disk (even tho these weren't taken w/a EOS), PhotoImpact 10, Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0, and whatever programs are on my husband's laptop.

So....does anyone know which program is compatible with a .CRW digital file?

Thanks!!!!

Another option is "Breezebrowser" which also claims it will convert these RAW files.

mrs alect (a photographer, though a Nikon addict) suggests you try Picasa - she's pretty sure it opens all RAW formats. and it's free!!!

Try Photoshop, Digital Photo Professional (Canon program) or ZoomBrowser (also from Canon).
