I've only now started to fly Delta recently, so apologies if this is a question that's been answered somewhere before...
When in the year does the MR transfer bonus to Skymiles happen? Is it a set time or is it random? Don't want to miss out on the next opportunity! Thanks y'all.

I just received a snailmail promo for a 20% bonus for xfering Amex MRs to Delta.
Transfer period is from 15-Apr-06 to 31-May-06.
And as usual, they say it's a targetted promo. But there's a twist this time around.
To get the 20% bonus Delta miles (on the entire transfer), I need to xfer at least 70,000 MRs.
The T&C's refer several times to "...must transfer the minimum number of points stated in this promotion..."
Not sure if the trigger amount is 70k points for everyone, but I'd ...-ume it isn't, based on how generically they refer to this 'minimum number of points' business.
You can see the promo here: www.delta.com/transferbonus
That page also warns you to "Review the promotional material you received describing this offer for details on the minimum number of points you must transfer to qualify for the bonus."
So be careful in assuming that this is just another regular Delta promo that anyone can jump in on without really having received the offer.
Anybody else get this offer?
What was the bonus-miles trigger point listed in yours?
To the OP, I hope you got this offer.

Nope, but I appreciate the post. :D
Signed up at the link you posted, and it appeared to take my Delta number. Problem is, I don't know what pt level I need to xfer to qualify. Oh well.
I guess I am lucky. My minimum threshold is only 10k points :)
My minimum transfer amount is 10,000 miles.
Did you read the fine print? There's a fee for transferring miles: "Cardmembers transferring points to domestic airlines will be charge a fee of $.0004 per point, up to $50."

True, Amex does ding your account with a smallish fee/surcharge for your point transfer, but that $.0004 fee per MR has been there for a year or more on _all_ MR xfers to airline programs. There's no way to avoid that any more, AFAIK.
