I'm flying next week ARN-LCY with SK. In my booking it says "Flight operated by Transwede"!!! I've checked on the Amadeus website and there it also says that the SK-flights between ARN and LCY are operated by Transwede.

Does anyone know more about this? As far as I remember, Transwede was a Swedish airline which flew domestic flights in Sweden and the route ARN-LGW like 5 years ago before they were bought up by Braathens (the Swedish part of Braathens was later on bought by Malmö Aviation I think). Anyways there hasn't been any Transwede flights between ARN and LON for many years, until now apparently?

Has Transwede come to life again and how is it conntected with SAS??

I hadnt really followed this but noticed as well that Malmo Aviation was listed flying out of PMI ocasionally and now figure it must have something to do with the Transwede relationship. or?

This wet lease relationship is similar to that of the regional carriers for UA and US which include the largest Mesa Air.

The choice of aircraft is also interesting as I wondor how much a part of getting the route to LCY involved purchase or lease of the English produced AVRO RJ70 where there marketing states:

The aircraft also fulfils the stringent environmental and noise level restrictions often in operation at European city airports.

I did LCY-ARN two days ago on the AVRO RJ70. Its a bit smaller than the LX RJ100's and they had nowhere to put my jacket (LX has a coatrack with hangers). Seats are 3+3 and not very much legroom in Business Class.

Food was actually quite good and nice FA.

The plane is painted in SK colors with a small Transwede sign next to the door.

Thanks for the reply! That sure answers my questions about it. I noticed that SK flies with DH4 between CPH-LCY. I guess it would have taken too long to use the DH4 from ARN to LCY.
