I'm curious.
Tried a lot of different city pairs and never got the "name your own price" option.
Am I making a mistake here?
What do you need to make nyop happen?
thx in advance,

.co.uk stopped this some time ago (2-3 years?). Seems like .com has caught up.

I just checked some random dates in June from SEA-DFW and the "Name Youyr Own Price" link was there when it showed a bunch of set prices, up in the top left corner of the page.

It seems to be there on the US site.

Even if the option to "name your own price" for flights still exists on priceline.com, it doesn't seem to be a very popular option lately. For example, the "bidding for travel" bulletin board, which attracts a lot of postings regarding Priceline hotel bidding, has only a couple of posts a month pertaining to bidding for air travel.

Are the prices available through "name your own price" really any better than the airlines' own discounted published fares? This seemed to be the case pre-9/11, but I'm not sure that it is now...

I found out by myself, but thanks to all for your assistance.
They only offer name your own price in case it is not a one-day-return as wanted to buy that time ORD-LGA, seems very doable as a day-excursion as i have been in NY quite some times...
.com does offer it...

About the only time I use Priceline's air product (name your own price) is when I know I can get a nonstop transcon flight for a reasonable amount less than buying direct. That was the case last year when I made a SFO-MCO trip. There is only one nonstop flight a day between these two cities, and it's on United. Priceline displays the taxes/fees before you complete your purchase, and that information helps you to determine whether or not they are going to assign you a nonstop or connecting flight. In my case, the taxes and fees indicated nonstop, so I knew exactly the flight I was going to get. I got it for $202 including taxes/fees while the same flight was over $300 if purchased direct. You don't accrue FF miles, but in my case I was willing to forego the miles for the good price and the nonstop flight.

For EWR-LAS, I was unsuccessfull for about 30% less than the going rate. I think PL will continue to be popular for hotels.

I, too, agree that PL has not been that great for airlines over the last year. There are still hotel deals out there though -yet these are harder to find, too.
