Can't believe this is happening so soon. Well done NZ.

Hmm a few days late for April Fools. Who do I see about the bill for fixing my back after falling off the chair?

It was there midnight last night, but now they are gone. Maybe they were testing it, I wasn't a dream I am telling you this is happening. I wish I had taken some screen shots.

Next you'll be trying to have us believe that NZ will be installing a Manage My Booking function which allows you to select seats without having to ring :D

I thought NZ currently did allow you to select seats on long haul flights.

But anyway I wasn't joking. And the booking engine was ravamped as well. A bit like Singapore Airlines where it allowed you to see fares in near dates on one page. And there was one new long haul fare type called Global Max. That does not allow Airpoints accrural. See for yourself in the next couple of days.

I would use BA as an example but that doesn't actually work correctly all of the time...

You're surely not suggesting that Air New Zealand would actually listen to, *and* adapt their website to serve their customers ;) Seems Ed Sims has finally got alot of projects coming to fruition now....

After having used the new system I have to say I'm impressed - apart from not telling you who operates code-share flights and not having the new HKGLHR segment loaded it's well thought out.

I would like to express full confidence that after a successful introduction on the NZ market website, it will be extended to the US market site, for Multi-City Complex bookings and for booking on Star Alliance Partner's.

Then as NZ see the decreases in call centre costs from their improved website a complete Manage My Booking system for all customers, regardless of where they made their reservation.

Nice, but could still do with improvements. Eg the discounted business awards aren't available online. To me it makes sense being able to see these to decide between paying cash, paying with airbucks, or going for discounted business award (or try another airline).

While I can appreciate that setting up a system which allows management of all PNRs may be slightly more difficult; for tickets booked online, which can already be accessed on the website (and in some cases cancelled) I don't see why it's not possible to allow seating requests (restrict it to *S and up if necessary to keep the system from being flooded with seating requests), FF numbers input, and the ability to change all bookings.
