The National Transportation Safety Board issued an urgent warning yesterday that a popular commuter aircraft - used by USAirways, among other carriers - has a potentially "catastrophic" flaw in its power system that has led to a series of seven fires aboard the planes.

I read the NTSB report (PDF here (http://www.ntsb.gov/recs/letters/2006/A06_29_35.pdf) and it mentions that there are two versions of the electrical contactor in CRJ 200. One of the contractors, the one using Ultem 2200 is susceptible to shortening when wet, the other one using NP509 woven glass fiber is not.

The report mentions that one US Airline installed some "water deflector" above the contactor to minimise this problem.

Anybody has any idea which this airline is - or how/where I can find information like this?

Thanks
David
