I was just interested if somebody has ever tried to match Sixt Plat to Europcar First and if is worked out. I am quite sure that it will not work if you got your Sixt plat status just by the airline status but what about an earned Sixt plat status? Any experience or ideas?

Cheers

Your assumption is quite correct totti. It only works out if you got the platinum status from Sixt via the standard way - renting cars lots of times.
Just talked to someone who tried it but failure. He only got it via his ffp status.
You have to fly more totti. As a HON you have more programs like Sixt Diamond and then you're not even thinking any more of someone else than Sixt.

Even now I am quite happy with the sixt service and the prices. You don't need to be HON to get great rates. As AF Plat you also get the 40% discount and some other corporate rates offer similar discounts as well. But I'd liek to have the diamond card because of the double upgrade.

Would be good if one could earn the diamond card as well. I think it wouldn't be a problem for me, as I rent a lot.

That reminds me that I have to leave now and pick up my car. Surprise, surprise, it SIXT :)

Forgot to ask: Your post sounds as if you think it is possible with an earn status, right?

That's what I've heard by a friend of mine. But since it didn't occur to me I don't to confirm it!
Maybe there is another source to find it out?

For info, I am both and I still get better prices with Europcar. The trick here is not to use the First ID contract number but the LH SEN ID one, unless you rent actively deluxe mobdels during the week, Week end rates are better under the LH Sen ID. From renting via Airports, the prices are better due to the high services charges that Sixt charges. Now unless someone has experience a better ID Contract number, I would be interested to see whether my experience can be met with better prices using Sixt.
BTW, is there actually a Europcar Thread for use of Contract numbers?? Thx

I did a search and could not find a thread with contract numbers. Maybe we should establish Europcar master thread with more information concerning Europcar ready service and Europcar First. I hope to find some time at the upcoming weekend to do this.
May I ask what the SEN ID is. As a SEN I am only aware of the LH SEN CC ID.

That's a good idea (master thread)
The LH Sen id is 80496823 but I found out there that there are quite a few Elite number with various rebates applying to all Gold level for various airlines. ie KLM,AF etc

So this is exactly the ID that you can use as a lowly LH CC Gold card holder. Have a look at this chart (http://www.miles-and-more.com/online/portal/mam/de/nonav/notaxonomy?l=de&nodeid=1075636) (sorry, in german only, because I couldn't find an english version)

yes indeed, and actually , the rebate has been changed to 10% as opposed to 15% which is indicated on the site, out of all the rental cars, this is still the cheapest for week end tarrifs!
