Asia Miles are redeemable miles, and is seperate from Club Miles, which is elite qualification miles. You have to fly to earn Club Miles, but you can do many things to earn Asia Miles.

When I asked a couple of years ago, CX would not allow me to retroactively credit previous flight miles toward MPC club miles. I don't know if other people had a better luck.

AA PLT challenge would be the easier way than MPC to obtain OW status. However, keep in mind that only higher CX econ fares (Y/B/H) are eligible to earn AA miles/points. If you are going to be flying a lot on CX metal on discounted fares, you will probably earn more Asiamiles than you would AAvantage miles. If you fly premium, you will earn more AAdvantage miles with the 100% PLT bonus in addition to COS bonus.

thnks for the help
If you fly F/J on CX, pratically the only things that makes Diamond worth keeping over EXP are
1. Higher chance of op-up
2. Guaranteed J seat (72 hrs?)
Otherwise, go with AA. The 100% elite bonus is great, and it is easier to requalify too.
