Starwood Preferred Guest - Fast Track to Platinum?

Anyone aware if there is any such thing as fast track to platinum similar to the Hilton Honours. I am doing a RTW and planning on maximizing pointsby staying at the sheraton. I will be staying around 20nights in one month all in either sheraton or meridien.

I tried to see if they would give me additional discount but call centre staff didnt seem interested. Any chance of gauranteed upgrdaes considering the amount of stays.

'Cause i am contemplating doing the Hilton Honours instead as if i do 20nights get the plat card with Hilton...but honestly would prefer the sheraton.

Any advice?

Do you have any kind of status with other hotel loyalty programs? IIRC, Hilton only gives out Diamond challenge to top tier elite members of other hotel programs. I believe SPG does comp HH diamond to SPG Plat (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=175916&highlight=comp+hilton+diamond). Good luck.

I can confirm that Hilton is not giving out Fastrack challenges to HHonors Golds, as I am one as asked 3 different times, escalating my request to the Diaomond Desk manager, only to highest level with other competitors.

If all of your stays will be at different properties, you will almost be SPG Plat.

I agree with an earlier poster. If you have Diamond from Hilton or Hyatt.. you should get a one time/one year comp to SPG Platinum :)

I am actually both Gold with *wood and HHonours. Will be staying 20nights in one month soon. cant get plat with either as dont do enough nights to get upgraded. Just hoping there was a starwood challenge that i could go for.

Well if you got 20 stays in * wood this early in the year, gota be worth a 5 stay matress run to get Plat for the remaining 8 months on 2006 and then through to Feb 2008
